Sissoko, plus a couple of defenders and I think we'd be alright. That would add steal and quality to our team for a fairly minimal outlay. Considering the tv deal for next season, it would be utter lunacy not to sign players. If we don't we will go down.

I think sometimes posters dream up scenarios to fill the vacuum i really do. Lambert has had six months at the helm not six years if Randy was about to sack him i would seriously doubt his sanity. We have a club that has been bought to its knees by mismanagement at the top with overpaid non contributors causing serious financial problems. Lambert can only do so much, two key centrebacks injured and Nzog and gabby out for longish spells Lambert had to play kids and we got walloped, what did we expect? Give the guy a break.

well its worth a try Paul. Its just he's at one of the richest clubs in the world. Presumably he's that cheap because they want rid and that will offset his wage demands. plus he's 27-28? Last big contract and all that. Just can't see it with the financial culture prevailing at villa

There was an article in the Evening Standard this week where the author claimed that most footballers get paid a fraction of the wages seen in the premier league (also real and barca).  He reported that Michu was on less than 5k a week before he moved to swansea.  Admitted the author was a scout in spain and may have some vested interests but I'm pretty sure joining villa would still be a decent pay rise for a player coming from France (PSG being the probable exception).

I beg to differ. He's not exactly Mr. Charisma, but I don't think that means he thinks everything has gone to shit.

Nope French international, 6'2 box to box type player. I think he's 24, but exactly what we need.

Moussa Sissoko, French 23 from Toulouse.

as opposed to Mohammed/Momo, Mali 27 from PSG (ex Liverpool)
