No quotes in that at all so it means nothing.  The BBC one has a direct quote from his agent.

No, but they do say that Villa told them it was bollocks.

That whole "no quotes" thing is so VillaTalk.

I tend not to read too much into stories with no quotes.

If the wage bill is stopping us making signings, we may aswell all go home and give up.

Indeed, it's been reduced plenty.

Indeed. I was once included in a Great Football Quotes book, saying something I never said to someone I'd never spoken to.

Was it 'it's my round'?

there is a huge debate going on over on VT after a 'ITK' has told all and sundry that the financial constraints at the club mean no-one coming in, and that 2 deals have already been scuppered.

I know, I know....its VT and 'ITK' so is all bollocks, but.......

I am sure it is rubbish.

I am sure we will be adding to the squad - it would be madness if we didn't, especially as those around us will be.

Said it earlier, I think at least part of the problem is that we're having to address an area that we thought we were ok in.  We really shouldn't need to sign a central defender as we have 2 experienced internationals in the squad who should be able to bring through the promising youngsters.

I think he had a signing like Coutinho or Aubameyang lined up to be a big creative influence (and he went for Dempsey in the summer remember, so that money is probably still there) and he doesn't want to let that one go but is wanting to add the defender on top.

The extra defensive midfielder is the tough one because I don't really know what to think about that, maybe KEA has been a big disappointment, but if so will it be easy to get the board to fund a replacement for him after 6months?

I know it is a name that has been discussed consistently on here forever but the defensive midfield replacement I

would go for is NRC. Think he would jump at the chance to come back and would walk into our midfield, in fact he could hop

into our midfield on one leg. Can't imagine he is currently on huge wages either.
Moving on...

We are desperate, but we are trying to improve the quality. NRC is not that person by a long way ........

I can't see anyway possible that there would be none coming in - it would be financial suicide and mean almost certain relegation .

I still think he's waiting to see what Saturday brings and things will move after that , lambert has no chance without money and he must either be sacked or backed , keeping him and giving him no money would be crazy.

We can all see where the team needs strengthening .

I agree with this.

A defeat (unless a heroic one), Lambert's off, someone's in and some money hastily spent.
A draw/win - Lambert stays and we may or may not get reinforcements

Or waiting to see if Westwood or Vlaar comes back from injuries.
