Quite, Norwich are a large club, sold more season tickets than we did last season (probably this season too).  Hardly a miracle to get them back in the top flight, they're a bigger club than Fulham, QPR, Wigan etc., probably the Albion too.

I am coming round to the view that for one season of his managerial career Paul Lambert got lucky. Last season with Norwich in the Prem. The rest of his career is pretty average, and that is in the lower leagues. He has now been found out, and I think he realises it.

Sorry, that's simply inaccurate. He got Norwich promoted twice in consecutive seasons, which is an amazing feat.
If he fails at Villa it will probably be the first time he has disappointed in his entire career.

Why is it an amazing feat. By Championship and Leageue 1 standards, they are not exactly a small club. You could also claim he got lucky with Holt.

Norwich had just been beaten 7-1 at home in their first game in league one when he took over (think it was his team Colchester who beat them). They may not be a small club, neither are many other clubs in the championship or league one who are still there. What he did at Norwich was superb. How did he get lucky with Holt by the way?

Let's be fair, he did a cracking job at Norwich, not only getting them promoted twice in successive season's but giving them a comfortable first season in the Prem.

Moussa Sissoko available for 3.5 million Euros. That is an absolute bargain and exactly what we need in midfield.

Given our present position I'd rather someone with PL experience, but that aside he's a good option at a good price.

The size of the club is not pertinent. How long have Leeds or Sheffield Wednesday been struggling? He took a Norwich side that was on its arse in League 1 and just hammered by his own team, then hammered his old club in the return fixture, got them promoted and then, without spending all that much got them promoted to the Premier League and then comfortably mid table in their first season, outscoring all but the top 4 or 5.

If you dont think that is remarkable then I can't imagine what you think is.

Not excited in the slightest dave, the prospect of di matteo if it happened would hardly be the greatest thing , but the main thing is that we stay in this division and as regards the afore mentioned twitter poster , he is no longer on my following list .
I'm not suggesting that you're excited by the prospect of Di Matteo, I'm suggesting that you're excited by yet another Twitter rumour, which leads you to posting in some sort of ridiculous code like you're a ten year old passing notes at the back of a classroom.

Yes he did of course, that's why we went for him and most of us wanted him - sometimes though a club can be too big

for a manager , I hope that's not the case here - I hope we can beat saints and then go to Wembley  and beat Swansea
Imagine the glory of a Wembley win, place in Europe and safety , but the other side of the coin is frightening - relegation would be a disaster financially and it cannot be stressed how big a game Saturday will be .

Exactly.  Don't look at the club but rather the team he inherited and where he was able to get them in 3 years.

EDIT:  Maz has expressed my point much more eloquently above!

Got to agree if i'm honest, it was a bit silly and unneccessary.

He was also superb at Colchester and very highly rated not that any of their fans would admit to it now given the way he walked out on them after said win away at Norwich. I know a few Colchester fans and they loathe him for that

Apart from the fact that I hadn't heard the twitter rumour having already deleted the original poster - several of us used the code as a bit of fun but don't let that stop you.

What a surprise , well you'd know all about that  - does that go for all of us or just me clampy ?

Half an hour or so of great debate with both sides posting well made points and interesting comments but then along come the snide comments of the same people - dissappointing yes , surprising no!
