Would he make a huge difference to our team?

Actually scratch that, I forgot how poor our team is. I genuinely could have done better at left back than Bennett last night.

If it were up to me and I had the £10m Lambert supposedly has then I'd try and sign Riise, Livermore on loan and try and tempt Blackpool into selling Ince.

Scraping the barrel there, but those three and a returning Vlaar and Dunne might be enough.

I wouldn't rely on Dunne or Vlaar returning. If you had to prioritise two positions an experienced centre half and centre mid are priority.

Even if their injuries have healed, they have still got to get back to match fitness which will take time.

We need, in no particular order: left back, centre back, central midfielder, attacking midfielder. The attacking midfielder is the least of our worries to be honest, as shoring up everything else would certainly help us establish footholds in games.

I agree with that Monty and would probably add a wide player as well.  As it stands, I just can't see us bringing in that many players in this window.

Trouble is ,there are no signs of either of these coming back. It's very frustrating

Whilst I understand Dunne and Vlaar are not fit to play football could their knowledge and experience not be put to good use on the training pitch.  Surely we should be putting Dunne and Vlaar out on the training pitches to at the very least try and instill some sort of organisation and belief into those currently tasked with keeping the gate closed!

Maybe attacking midfielder/wide player. I've said before, Marko Marin on loan would seem to make sense.

No! Definitely not! He is no leader-type. He is just another inexperienced (PL-) player, small, lightweight. No!
I´ve seen him for years here in Bremen, very frustrating.
And also an ambarrassing diver. Gosh!

Well, I bow to your superior knowledge of him, but I'm not thinking we need leadership in attacking midfield, we need a bit of spark. Marin certainly has more than Zog or Albrighton, wouldn't you agree?

If we are going to go back to the 4-2-3-1 formation then N'Zogbia and Albrighton are only genuine wide options.  I agree that we need a playmaker in the AM role, but we desperately need some better wide options if we are going to play that formation.

Well, I think everyone might be better than Zog...
And I still think we need more experience in the squad.

Definitely, especially in defence and in midfield, I feel.

Forget left back. Get Warnock back in there.

Spend the minimal money we have on a big defensive mid and a solid experienced defender. Any left over on another midfielder. Box to box, passer.

Just seen this retweet

@tancredipalmeri: Coutinho's agent to FcInterNews: "Aston Villa contacted us, they want him. But with all due respect to the offer, still nothing concrete"

He's quite good, but playing for Inter ain't what it used to be. Still, certainly an upgrade on what we have now!

I see some joker's edited his Wiki rather craftily.
