If we sort the midfield and central defence issues I think we can afford to let Stevens and Bennett fight it out for left back for the rest of the year.  If neither has made it their own by the summer then we could look at bringing in a more experienced option at that point.

Pretty much exactly as I see it to.

Plus, if we do sign Lescott both him and Clark are options for LB if we get real problems there.

Well we definitely need some competition for Bennett at left back, so that'd be good.

I think Enda Stephens has done OK when called upon this year.

I think he's looked better than Bennett. I'm not at all convinced by Bennett, it's looking too much too soon for him so far.

Totally disagree, Bennett will be a quality player , he's had lots of injury problems this season but with a run of games and match fitness will prove a very good signing.
Stevens has been an able squad player.

The genuine Mysteryman is somebody worth listening to. He got let down with info regarding McLeish and got hammered for it but is usually fairly reliable.
He's not really around much any more which is a shame. I think some of the gobshites on VT annoyed him but he used to post here occasionally and should again.

I really enjoy reading posts from the genuine MM and Pelty to give you a bit of an insight.  I'll never forget the Sunday we drew at Blues and with the story breaking with Bent.

I know pelty mentioned a big signing but I believe it was mr dw who produced the name we all craved of mr db.

Dave got his info from Cheltenham Lion on that occasion.

I think Bennett looks like he has plenty of potential going forward, he can beat a man quite easily. In fact he reminds me(albeit well short of the same class) as a Bale type player, comfortable going forward and dodgy defensively. So I think we need to sort out his defensive ability as I doubt he'll get to Bale's level.

mentioned before that my brother in law knows PF in a business context and to a much lesser degree socially.he heard that there is a sell to buy policyin this window as the wage hogs are still causing  a problem. Don't shoot the messenger, just what he told me and of course it could be total bollocks because he isn't MM, either the real one or the pretend one

Irony being the reason we want ride ,Wages is same reason no one will buy them.Given for instance NO club in their right mind is going to pay him 65k a week and he has 3.5 years left on his contract same with Ireland though fortunately he is down to 18 months.

Hutton we may get a fee for if takes a cut elsewhere to get game time

Warnock and Dunne we would be as well to just pay them off now.

You could easily have said the same of Kyle Walker when he first arrived on loan with us.

I'm not sure about him. He did alright against Man United, but was roasted at Swindon of all places.

I think we're very weak at left back. I prefer Stevens to Bennett. But, both are substandard at the moment. I'm sure they'll improve.

Aaahh yes...The Fannyclowns. I remember them from my trips to the circus as a child. Very avante garde, they were. There was one, (Griselda I think she was called) who used to pull six hundred feet of coloured ribbon from her Growler.

Memories...tsk...

Was that definitely not acid?

Karren Brady's fannyclown car was my favourite trick. How 26 grown men emerged from that I've no idea.
Especially side by side, juggling.

He also said that Stephen Ireland wouldn't be bought as part of the Milner deal, then got really annoyed by a bloke on VT who knew Stephen Ireland and said that it would.
