Heskey could do a decent job for us.  He puts a shift in and could hold up the ball nicely for Benteke.  Bags of experience.

I've just been looking at this MysteryMan's twitter page and considering he's supposedly ITK, he mentioned Benteke when it was common knowledge at the time we were after him, mentioned Lambert but also said we'd put a bid in for Andy Carroll. He did'nt mention Westwood, Bennett, Vlaar, the re-signing of Guzan or Bowery. There's also over a 1,000 people following his every word which i find a little sad.

He would also disappear for a month every January.
Every other January. Assuming Gabon qualify. Which they normally don't (one proper qualification in the last six tournaments).

Well there is that other "Mysteryman" who does have some connections (through sponsoring the club I understand) however this twitter guy is not him, but I imagine a lot of folk think he is.

Is Aubameyang pronounced ah-bam-a-yang?

If so, there is potential for a cracking song also featuring (woah-oh) Benteke.....

Clampy, twitter is just a bit of  fun, just because you follow someone doesn't mean what they say is gospel, kendrick, nursey, murphy etc are all on twitter and often wrong on transfer information- it's speculation , lies and crap - hence the name of the thread.

Never take anything as definite unless you see it on the official site.

Needless to say, sometimes these people do get it right , but rarely.

Which is why i don't follow any journalist on twitter.

Pat Murphy is a very good broadcaster. When things were going badly last year I heard him interview Paul Faulkner, and he gave him a right going over - not in the sense of being unfair but asking the questions fans would have asked him, and not just letting him wriggle off the hook.

I do think, however, that he has a huge problem with the fact Randy never speaks to the press. I know that journalists would not be impressed with that, as it makes their job harder to do, but he makes the valid point that Lerner has a role as owner of a massive local institution so has a duty sometimes to speak.

I totally get that argument, but what I don't like is the way Murphy seems to let the resentment simmer, with the effect that it colours his reporting on the club.

Journalists aren't supporters, it is not their job to defend or promote us, something people often forget, but all the same, some objectivity is needed, and Murphy's fault is that his views seem a bit tainted by the fact our owner makes his job harder.

Ugo (Ugo, Ugo, Ugo) Ehiogu was just on Danny Baker's show. Still Has a great fondness for Villa and says we need experienced CB and  MF to help the younger/inexperienced players bed in.  Interestingly he mentioned Lescott would be great for us - maybe he knows something??

Trouble with Murphy is he was in that little press clique who thought MON walked on water and were obviously kept informed by him.. Not surprised Lerner doesn't want to talk to him as he probably fears a stitch-up.

I can listen to Pat Murphy as long as it dosent involve him talking about the Villa or West Brom. Always been an Albion fan and his bias against the Villa has certainly increased since the press shut out at Villa Park, I think he had quite good contacts during the Ellis era.  Heard him say during an interview once that it had always been a personal regret of his that Ipswich hadnt won the league in 1981 when they had deserved to because Bobby Robson was such a nice man. He didnt mention who had won it. He enjoys having a dig at the Villa, he should be above that in his profession.

I remember a really good interview on the old radio two sports show he did when graham turner was villa boss back in 1985.

Under mon he was fairly pro villa but since mon left he has a tendency to criticise every chance he gets.

Prefer him talking about cricket.

He actually supports Chelsea.
