What's he earm that. 80K?

I'm sure we could get City paying 50% at least, they were paying most of Adebayor's wages when he was at Spurs.

In an ideal world a loan with a view to a permanent deal would be great, but if not I'd pay the £10m IF there was a golden goodbye from Man City so we got him for more like £80k per week.

I think you could get him on 50-60 with City picking up 20 a week for 2 years or something silly like that.

He's still technically our player as he's out on loan, surely we could look at either recalling him or playing him next season?
He's only our player if he's injured.

I'm sure we could afford Lescott's wages in the long term if a couple of the higher earners are shipped out.  He could also cover LB in the case of emergency and would be a great signing inmy opinion.

well the new sky megabucks super-duper deal kicks in soon. Get him on loan till the summer, and if we're still in the promised land come May. it won't be a problem even for Lerner.

Lescott is a Villa fan, so I would be much less concerned about his motivation.
What about the fall out regarding his brother.

There is none.

Lescott is exactly what we need. I hope there's something in it. I want some hope to Klingon to.

I'm sure he'd be more than happy to make the Trek home to Villa Park.

I wouldn't really want Lescott on a permanent deal TBH. A loan deal would be perfect at this moment in time though. He is just what we need in the short-term. In the long-term, he could well be another high earning 30+ year old who we are lumbered with in a couple of years IMO.

I agree from a playing point of view Lescott would be ideal, just what we need, problem is it goes against what the manager is trying to achieve that is young players with a good sell on price, should they be another Benteke. Happy Arry is more likely to take him, he spends other peoples money as if it was other peoples money.

I'd love us to get in Lescott. I've always thought him to be a bit overrated and the cracks showed at the CL and International levels. It's not his fault how much City paid for him though. But he is a country mile better than anything we have at the back and also the sort of experienced character we need. He know's what it takes to battle at all ends of the table. If it can be done, do it.

Get Keane up front for a while too, someone experienced in midfield and 1 or 2 of Lamberts youth punts from these or foreign shores, and we'll be far better.

Would be a great signing in many respects at least on the short term. Though potentially quite a big downside is that he's left footed. I think he could only play with Vlaar or dunne. That might be the case if either are ever fit again, but I think it'd be better to get someone who can play with either of the youngsters. Also struggle to see that he wouldn't have better options than us or that randy would want to pay the wages. Not sure I can see this happening
