So Welbeck comes in and will expect regular football as it would be pointless coming here otherwise, so what happens to Benteke and Weimann?
Don't see the point. If it was Guidetti on loan with a permanent option I could live with that.
Maybe Welbeck is permanently surplus?

Anyway, as has been said; not that all you hear about is the priority but the priority is not up front but elsewhere. Especially midfield.

Welbeck would be a waste of a good signing.

Welbeck would be outstanding. He can play in any forward position, even wide where we lack quality.Weimann and Benteke won't suffer, rotation is the name of the game and means we can freshen up the strikers with 20 mins to go ,the time when most goals are scored.
Bent would obviously be sold and the extra funds could strengthen the woeful midfield where our best midfielder,Westwood, could be struggling with a bad injury.
Next year,we have a better midfield and competent, more experienced strikers in Benteke and Weimann. Welbeck,England striker, needs more game time.A Scot helping another,I hope.

Agree with midfield being a priority, but it also must be remembered that we've only managed to score 17 league goals so far this season.

If Bent is sold it makes a bit more sense.

By the way, some guy on twitter (yes, I know) reckons we're after a Danish international but doesn't have the name of this player.
More Vikings is fine by me.

Largely because of the midfield.

could be gabby I guess. i wouldn't put it past pubehead to make a bid for him in January. The problem with that is Lambert just doesn't seem to rate Bent at all while gabby, despite being mainly awful for three years does seem to be in favour. Probably bollocks anyway.

Probably because the midfield can't get the ball to Benteke & Weimann.

True Maz and I agree that other positions should take priority over a forward, but if the chance to take Welbeck on loan for the rest of the season arises then I think we should take it.  If it came down to a choice between taking him on loan or taking a midfielder or defender, then we should be taking the latter options.

Dale Stephens rumoured to be a done deal. He's had a good season so far at Charlton. Think I heard he's got the most assists in the league?

We were linked to a Danish holding midfielder in Germany a few weeks back. International, looked a decent size too from memory. Christ knows his name. Sounded viking.

Welbeck can play the wide forward role, so if it was true Lambert could be thinking Benteke through the middle with Weimann and Welbeck either side. Obviously it's still critical that the midfield is sorted in order to produce chances.

Not even in the top 30.

Maybe pass completion? No idea what programme was on about him though
