Ego has just retweeted, Welbeck on loan to Villa.
Now that would be quality.
I can't see him fitting in at right back.
That says to me that a striker is leaving.
Also, I'd only be into that if there was a chance of a permanent deal.
I'd leave the strikeforce as is without selling anybody and work on the team elsewhere.
The Welbeck link doesn't feel genuine to me but who knows.
if welbeck's coming then i'd put money that Bent's off.
I'd be pretty surprised if Welbeck is coming. Why would he? Why would Man U?
I think we've other priorities tbh - like virtually everywhere in the side except right back and in goal!

well with rvp, rooney and hernandez he's going to get limited playing time i guess, though rooney's crocked ATM so you'd think they'd keep him till he's back at least
Link on Transfer Tavern saying PL interested in Steve Morrison (Norwich). Think papers are looking at the possibility of Bent leaving and just filling in the blanks. Priority is LB-2-3 CM- CB of good quality ready for first team places .........
Not a big Welbeck fan, but he knows where the goal is and has a bit of pace. If he came it would be the end of Bent though surely. Bent out for 12-14m, Welbeck on loan as a replacement till the summer when we can find a longer term solution and use the money on the defence and midfield.... might be a decent bit of business.

Really? Bloody hell, I'd take that.
Probably bollocks mind.

We're no threat to Man Utd, in fact Welbeck might help us take points of their rivals, he won't play a huge amount with the striking options they have.
Makes a lot of sense, but is probably still bollocks!
I'd be pleased with Wellbeck but think it's about as likely as us signing Frank Lampard, ie not very.
Wrong player if he is coming. Don't need forwards need midfield and defence.
Agree Risso.
Fergie is a master at rotating four strikers and no way would he go into the second half of a season with just three out and out strikers so unless they're signing Lewandoswki this window which I doubt, then I really can't see him going anywhere.
As it stands upfront is the least of our worries. We need players who can get the ball to them on a regular basis!
I'd be happy we need good options and it'd be a start. We also need a centre half, left back, two centre mids and a creative player.
The story behind Welbeck according to my Man Utd mate is they are after Sneijder. If they land him, then Welbeck can go on loan.
