Reo-Coker is one of the most limited players I've seen play for us in a very long time.

No thanks. There's a reason he plays for Ipswich.

If Nigel Reo-Coker is the answer then I don't want to know what the question was...

The question was "name an average football player who thinks way too highly of himself, threw away a perfectly good place at one of England's biggest clubs for supposed CL glory, who can run very fast into dark alleys and enjoys passing to opposing players before trying to encourage his team mates to work harder by huddling or waving his arms furiously"

Watched a European football show somewhat through a haze this morning and they did a piece on a striker called Wilfried Bony.  He is from the Ivory Coast, plays for Vitesse Arnhem and is currently the top scorer in the Dutch league.  Even through the haze, that name seemed to ring a bell.  Have we been linked with him before?

We were linked with him last day of the window. May just have been plan B if Benteke deal didn't happen but who knows it may be revisted if Bent leaves for example.

I'd be o.k with that as I think we have enough upfront but the experience and quality has to come in central defence and especially midfield.

A few of us (including me) scoffed at us signing Snodgrass in the summer but he's been really good lately for Norwich and has great delievery from set pieces. Can't help feeling it would be good to get a wide player in this window aswell.

I quite liked Snodgrass because of his ability to deliver the ball. Similar I would think Whittingham would have done well back here.

That's one thing we haven't had in a few years is a good set piece bloke. Nobody of Gaz Baz's standard anyway, and Ash when he was on his game. The current crop are poor and is a contributory factor as to why we are amongst the worse from corners and free kicks.

Wilfred Bony (who we should sign for the name alone, in my opinion) has been a 'next big thing' for a couple of years, I think, quite a bit of hype around him.

It's come up before, but if there's a chance of signing Diame then I think we should go for him - reckon he'd be just the thing alongside Westwood and Bannan.

Can't see why Diame would move here seeing as West Ham are mid table. And we'd also have to offer him a wage increase from what he gets there so really don't see it. Exactly what we need in midfield though.

Another name just come to me, Junior Holliet. What on earth has happened to him at QPR?! I thought he looked a real player at Blackburn so if QPR are trying to get in this world 11 maybe try to get him on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy?

I'd agree with that HQ.

Given that we're so light in midfield, have nobody who can play the 'hard bastard' role and have very little money - I'd think taking NRC on a free (assuming his wages are sensible) would be good business. If we sign him short term, he's another body to use until the end of the season before we get better in the summer. If we sign him longer term, we'll make a profit at some point as we'll have signed him on a free.

He's not a great player, nobody is pretending he is, but we already have some technically capable midfielders, what we need is a bit of steel to allow the more capable players to shine.

Get him in IMO!

Ego has just retweeted, Welbeck on loan to Villa.

Now that would be quality.

Also apperantly NRC has contacted Villa about a return, but we said no, according to James Nursery.
