I like Bannan but if anyone offered 7 million I would rip their arm out of the socket
For 7 million I'd throw in Ireland and N'Zogbia too and give them a big wet sloppy kiss. Bannan showed promise in our unbeaten run but he's been anonymous since (as have everyone else to be fair). For me though, BB will always blow far too hot and cold.

Stephen Warnock to West Ham in some papers today. Was he at Blackburn with Fat Sam? That could happen. Mutton to Nottingham Florist could to. That'd be two decent wages off the books!

No to players like Cahill and Keane. We don't need over the hill money grabbers at the club for a few weeks, we need experienced 27/28 year olds that still have something to prove for themselves and who'll also settle our youngsters in over a season or two. That's what I'm hoping our Euro Scouting Genius can come up with!

Happy New Year everyone, hope it brings the best for you all, and Aston Villa.

I wouldn't describe Keane as an over the hill money grabber, his goals helped keep us up and he had a positive effect on the team and great attitude.

I'd take Robbie Keane again if he's available. He would organise our midfield and may chip in a few goals / assists again . Class act.

I'd have Keano back. I think he showed he still has the desire at this level last season. He's a player with vision and intelligence on the ball. Composure, something we're lacking almost completely right now. I think he'd have a field day playing off Benteke and vice versa. Plus Keane can produce goals out of nothing. We need a bit more of that sort of ability as we're struggling to create goals through patient build up.

Happy New Year everybody. Yes Robbie Keane would be a major plus for our club. Great proffessional.

I'm really not sure about the clamour for Keane. I seem to remember him having as many ineffective games as good ones for us.
I do though, think his experience could be invaluable and his ability to talk the kids through a game would be useful.
But, it seems a bit of a lazy link, we are under new management and a new team, albeit poor at the moment. Why would Lambert want to bring him in just because TSM did ?

we need a Scott Brown type figure in midfield,in fact dodgy hip and all i'd go for him.not sure if he'd relinquish champions league for a relegation dog fight tho'.

The "window" has been open for 12 hours so by now Harry must have signed a new team through "wheeling and dealing"?

I think he may mean Michael Brown who plays for Leeds. He used to play for Fulham and Sheffield United, he likes a tackle.

Lescott, Lampard, Keane, some big African who's team hasn't qualified for the ACN.

No, he means Wes Brown.
