We need a couple of midfielders that have a presence and can use the ball. Spurs have it spot on with Sandro and Dembele. They can do it all between them.

100% agreed re Dembele and Sandro - I just said as such on the Ireland thread.

A couple of the midfielders that Lambert signed at Norwich would be useful at Villa. Snodgrass and Bradley Johnson have looked impressive this season.

And when one of them isn't available, they throw in Huddlestone and Parker, who aren't as good, but both decent.

Aye, makes our choice of midfielders look pretty meagre by comparison!

I would take Barry back in a shot.  Exactly what we need on a 1-2 yr deal.  Thoughts?

Would love to see it , but I think he's still very much part of city's plans.

If 10mio is the number, Lambert is going to have to wheel and deal to make anything work with that.  He may need to try and ship Ireland, N'Zogbia and Bent (I personally want him to stay) to add to that 10mio figure.  Interesting but slightly worrying times.  Oh to be a fly on the wall of that meeting between Randy and Lambert....

Not sure how reliable the Telegraph is in terms of football gossip, not my usual choicer of paper.

£10m would be laughable in our current position, considering the amount at stake if relegated surely randy would put more money than that on the table.

10mil is not an awful lot if true. I wonder if the club sell Darren Bent for 12mil Lambert will get that as well.

I very much doubt it.

Agreed, given how much TV money is coming into the PL next year.

If we can make a few quid on some of the experienced shite that's not doing a fat lot then that might add a few quid to the coffers. Bent, Dunne, Given and Ireland may add a little.

Dunne is injured so who would take him, given and Ireland are on huge wages and bent is the only one I can see there being interest in and he's still probably our best hope of goals.
