Jamie Carragher would be a good shout if he could be prised away from Liverpool. Exactly the type of character that would have a positive influence on the squad. Natural leader and always gives 100 per cent.

Crikey, Nick, really? He's already too far past it for this league, and is too deeply associated with one club to be moving elsewhere now.

I'd get Dawson, just pay more than QPR will pay. We have no choice.

He may not be the one for us but it is that experience and leadership we are really missing. There are plenty in our squad who can do the running for players like him but he is an organiser and
talker and quite frankly I'd take anyone who can do that for us at the moment.

Spurs have loads of centre backs.

I'd honestly try and get Dawson in for the rest of the season. Failing that I like Caulker and he was very good on loan at Swansea.

We've already played Spurs twice so any loans from them would be available to play all the league games for the rest of the season.

Dawson was rumoured at the end of the Window wasn't. He would be ideal for us, as he is a leader, is very good on his day and would step in alongside Vlaar, Clark or Baker with ease.

Dawson was leaving until Kaboul got injured.

I reckon they'd let him go as Kaboul should be back soon and they also have Gallas, Vertongehen and Caulker as options.

It isn't about experience, age or hair colour. It's about level of talent, quality & the way the team plays the game.
I agree it's not about hair colour however experience counts.

The problem with Dawson is he's a bit injury prone. We've already got Baker who takes knocks every few games. We do need someone else at the back though and to be honest i can't think of anyone off the top of my head apart from Lescott, who i reckon might go back to Everton.

i dont think QPR will pose much of a threat in this tranfer window,
Jamie Redknap has just been saying on Sky that the club look like going down so who are you going to attract, remember they have only got 10 points

he also said whats the point in saddling the club with massive wages in the championship, its a recipe for financial disaster, and they can only make one more loan signing for some reason

i know we are not in much better shape, but if by any chance we were in for the same player, i think we would be favourite on a number of counts

Everton are after Hanley at Blackburn, so I don't think Lescott will go back there.

The blessed Martin is being linked with lescott, but i think he would probably choose villa over Sunderland if we were in for him.

Most of these players are naff. We don't even really need a centre half. Not to the point where I'd throw silly money at someone like Dawson.

We need a bit of pace/trickery in the final third and, most importantly, a centre midfielder - ideally one who's been about a bit and can lock down a midfield. In an absolutely ideal world Scott Parker on loan and Tom Ince would do. But the latter is going back to Liverpool and the former would probably not leave Spurs.

I'd try and get Marin from Chelsea on loan and then maybe someone like Britton at Swansea. Someone suggested Darren Fletcher on loan, that's a possible avenue to explore too.

It's pointless signing experience if it's shite. We've got a shedload of experience in the squad, about 400k a week and £60ms worth, infact. But they're no good.
