The frightening one there is Given contracted until 2016. I think we could sell N'Zogbia.

Especially when you think we let Friedal go for nothing because we didn't want to pay his big wages.
I thought Friedal went for the signing on fee to pay off his soccer school debts in the US.

I thought we offered him a years deal but spurs offered him a better and longer deal?

It's quite possible that you're both right.

Surely we can't contemplate selling him to a potential rival in the bottom seven or eight. He will score goals wherever he goes. Lambert had better have a bloody good plan if he is contemplating letting him go.

All options should be open at the moment including thinking how he might reshape his approach to help our best goalscorer do what he does best. After all, so far, our tactics have resulted in us being the lowest scorers in the whole country so his tactics have failed lamentably to date.

I suppose it depends what funds lambert has available and what players he has targeted, I think bent will be sold if the money is right , it's a pity because we have waited so long for a natural finisher and I will be sad to see him go.

When Bent is fit he needs to be played alongside Benteke.  Benteke is going to blow hot or cold for the remainder of the season, as would be expected for a young player coming into a new league.  Heaven help us if Benteke gets injured in the next couple of games.  Weimann behind Bent and Benteke would give us the extra in attack to take pressure off the defence.

At a supposed 65k/week for another 4 years for a goalie sitting on the bench, it is truly terrifying!

But yet we paid £5m & £65k per week over 5 years for Given, which is the tidy sum of £20m!!!

The club is now paying for these & other costly mistakes.

I would only sell Bent if it meant 2 attacking options that are going to be played are coming in.

Me too.

I thought Bent would leave in January and he still could easily go but I think he needs to be kept till the summer as this is desperation now and he clearly can score goals in this league.

If we can sort this defence out, then in those type 6 pointer games against the likes of Fulham and Reading, Bent could easily pop up with the winning goal in those sorts of games.

Talking about experienced players, did anyone else see Rush and Aldridge on sky this morning.

They were both asked who the best centre half they ever faced was and they both said Barasi and Mgrath, Aldridge went on to say said of the two he would go for Paul

Oh if only we could find another like him, once in a lifetime I suppose

Just a point about experienced players on big money. QPR are getting battered as we speak with a team of "experienced" players. I think the one player PL let go to quickly was Collins. He did have a certain positiveness in his game which would have been very helpful now .....

Collins? Take it you didn't see his clanger yesterday then?

I don't really see the relevance of QPR having a side of experienced players. Nobody wants us to stop using any of the kids, just fewer of them at one go.

It's not just any old experienced players is it, it's the right calibre ones, ones who can bring leadership and maybe a bit of toughness
