Yes to Luke Young. We were stupid to sell him in the first place. He could slot in at left back.

Will Young would get in our team at the moment

Lets be realistic. £20m is a pittance these days. Spending £20m might get us two or three average players who'd take time to settle in. I am all for signing the Vlaar's and Benteke's but we are in a shitstorm right now and need players who can make an immediate impact now.

Realistically, we need about four or five good players who are ready to slot in straight away. You're talking £35m + (and big wages) to ensure our Premier League survival. And that's hoping our bad luck with injuries won't continue. Can anybody see us parting with that much cash?

We are stuck in a vicious circle of shite.

Anyone now if Paul Scharner is playing for Hamburg much?

He's been a solid player for WBA and Wigan playing at RB, centre half or midfield.

Desperate times I'm afraid folks.

There's loads of decent players available for transfer or loan. Just depends on if we can convince them to come here, and if we can afford them.

Lambert believes young hungry players are still the way to go, experience guarantees nothing was his comment yesterday and it seems his transfer policy will not change- very worrying.

Yes because "young and hungry" has served us so well so far this season.
God help us.

Realistically signings like Luke Moore or Zat Knight who follows Vila more likely that Lescotts

I think these are steady and quality players I would be happy if we added as they have EPL experience

Defence
Upsons Stoke
Stephen Kelly Fulham
Senderos Fulham
Dann Blackburn
Wheater Bolton
Ahmed Elmohamady can play a variety of places in defence and midfield
Stephen Ward of wolves can also do this as full back winger and make shift striker

Midfield
Tim Cahill new york redbulls loan option
Huddlestone spurs
whitehead stoke
Surman norwich
Chris Eagles bolton
Yossi Benayoun
Pedersen Blackburn
Jay Spearing

Striker
Kevin Doyle
Robbie Keane
Kevin Davies

I would be sick if we signed someone as awful as Upson. Need someone who will bully a midfield like Fellaini, obviously we couldn't get him but anyone similar will do!

Upson- Ain't played much at all at Stoke, came in today with Shawcross suspended and they conceded 3 at home to Southampton!

Kelly- Strikes me as a journeyman, nothing player. Ex SHA.

Senderos- Christ no! Imagine him and Clark waddling in our defence.

Dann- In fairness wanted him 18 months ago but really seems to have declined since then

Weater- Just a big lump and had a serious injury aswell.

Ward- Errr no.

Someone like Michael Dawson would do for central defence on loan for the rest of the season, o.k not the quickest but excellent in the air, let's face it the rest of the season is just going to be a long battle.

For the midfield I was thinking maybe of Darren Fletcher. Needs games after missing a year through illness and he would be a battling niggly presence in central midfield.

I think his comment was a reflection on QPR who spent bucket loads on experienced players and it has not changed them.  There are no guarantees, young or experienced, they have to have the right attitude to match their ability.

When you look around the league there are very few quality players with the right attitude that are available.  The rich clubs stocking up their squads with all available and the willingness of players to sit on the bench put paid to that a long time ago.

He said he wanted hungry players. That can include an older head, aslong as the desire exists.

Well Lampard would fit that bill but no chance of him coming here.

He did not say we would not be buying either, he said he will discuss plans with Lerner. I think 2-3 will arrive. Anyone can see a big hard centre mid and a centre half are musts.

This morning we were discussing lescott, Parker , benayoun, tonight I get the feeling those names are pie in the sky and I expect our new arrivals to be lower league players.

Radio wm, believes his policy is the right way to go .experienced players guarantee nothing , the club has done down the experienced route and where has it taken them etc.
