According to a feature on us in The Times today, we will be signing new players, but in the Summer NOT in January.
They'd better be fucking wrong.
That would be mad.
Last time i said 'they aren't that stupid' was just before we appointed TSM but seriously, they aren't that stupid......... are they.
OzVilla, it'd be close on suicidal not to strengthen, I just can't see how anybody would take that approach with what's about to occur with inflated TV money so, no, I'm not having that. I think we'll buy one or two and maybe a loan. Bent to be sold.

Can't see it at all, Lambert already said he'd be looking in January.
I think he'll sign some, but I have a feeling that it won't be the experience we crave, he's already stated that he's unshakeable in his belief that youth is the way forward.

Lerner is an incompetent fool when it comes to football. The McLeish appointment proves that alone. I wouldn't put anything past him.
Realistically signings like Luke Moore or Zat Knight who follows Vila more likely that Lescotts
I think these are steady and quality players I would be happy if we added as they have EPL experience
Defence
Upsons Stoke
Stephen Kelly Fulham
Senderos Fulham
Dann Blackburn
Wheater Bolton
Ahmed Elmohamady can play a variety of places in defence and midfield
Stephen Ward of wolves can also do this as full back winger and make shift striker
Midfield
Tim Cahill new york redbulls loan option
Huddlestone spurs
whitehead stoke
Surman norwich
Chris Eagles bolton
Yossi Benayoun
Pedersen Blackburn
Jay Spearing
Striker
Kevin Doyle
Robbie Keane
Kevin Davies
that entire list bar Huddlestone & Keano would make me want to cry
Well QPR and Reading have both said they will be adding to their squads would be madness for us to do nothing especially considering the injuries we have.

If there's one thing we know it is that the press know fuck all about our transfer dealings.
Lescott would be a great signing.
could see him at Spurzz replacing Dawson .
I have him down as a fanny merchant, I reckon we'll need players with more character than him.
Is that the upmarket version of a Pimp?
I really needed that Dan to make me laugh as i am feeling like shit and looking at our potential first team is not helping :-))

I wouldn't be against this PROVIDED THAT 3 or 4 quality players are brought in on loan.
There are very few quality buys at this time of the season. Even less if you are trying to find a round peg that fits in your round hole of your plans for the future. Financial issues are extremely important and it is no point in spending, say, £8m on a player and paying him £60k a week, when he is only a short term stop-gap.
Paying 3 or 4 players £60k a week until the end of the season is a different matter as this would only amount to £3-4m. This would also possibly mean that we could attract players that would not come here if we were trying to sign them (as well as not being able to afford them). Lescott is a good example as he wants to play week in week out to keep up his match fitness level but possibly does not want to make a decision on his future at this stage of the season. Huddestone might be another. What I would not want to see is signing a player like Benayoun but hasn't he gone back to Chelsea because he is out with a possible long term injury.
The situation has become clear to me on the way back, we need 4-5 short term loans similar to Robbie Keane seeing as i doubt the business plan will be ripped up anytime soon.
Was thinking aloud in the other thread but whatever happened to Luke Young at QPR? I'd take him back as a short term loan until the summer as he did a good job when he was here in both full back areas.
If it is true he only has limited funds then we could well be fucked. We need a centre half, a centre mid and a forward all capable in this league now. Not end of Jan, now, to give the kids the lift they are desperate for.
Ireland needs to be got rid of too. He has no stomach for a fight and big wages. Give me 2 Westwoods over him any day.
Plus can we get Bannan and Westwood back in the side together please, at least they pass the ball to each other.
Scott Sinclair would be a good loan.
Don't think we can have more than 2 players on loan. I would try to get Milner, Barry, Lescott, another foreign midfielder and a quality viking. I believe we are struggling as we got no vikings like Mellberg or Laursen.
Yes to Luke Young. We were stupid to sell him in the first place. He could slot in at left back.
