And why would Fulham let Hangeland go?
And why would Hangeland let Fulham go for Villa? Living in London easy life little expectations from team he plays for coming to the end of his career...why would he want to move if he does move anywhere other than QPR?

No idea but surely it's the job of people at the club to create enough reasons that he'd be interested?  If he's even on the radar.

As for Fulham wanting Bent, I'm fairly sure that there are quotes from Jol saying he's interested so I think there's definitely something in that side.

Here's a question does Lambert have any rules regarding where players live?

I think Mcleish imposed a limit of 50 miles or something like that , not sure if lambert stuck to that or not.

Either McLeish will actually do well there (it's about his level) or he'll turn into the new Gary Megson and go from job to job each becoming shitter. To his credit I suppose, irrespective of his last two positions he's completely toxic like O'Leary.

We have lost internationals like Barry, Milner, downing and young and replaced them with vastly inferior players, losing both our creativity and shape - midfield needs sorting out more than any area.

we didnt buy them as fully fledged internationals though, 2 of them were just kids we took a chance on, much like we are doing now
to replace like for like we would have to go to the top clubs and prize away there best midfielders which isnt going to happen

the only realistic way of replacing these players is to do the same again, take a chance on a young player from a lower division club ie Watford (young) and Brighton (Barry) and develop them into great players.

i think thats what we are trying to do anyway

Johnny Heitingas would be a great move can play central and midfield added class and experience. This guy is at everton atm not getting in team and was player of season last season. I think a loan would suit get him first team footie and villa the experience.

That was Yobo.

Hettinga would fit the bill, maybe Concrete can have a word.

I wonder why he has been jettisoned by moyes after winning last seasons player of the year award at the toffees.

perhaps a money or length of contract issue. Also i noticed tommy hitz was playing for everton and arrowed one towards the goal -hit the bar.

I do wonder all these calls for premier league experience which players feasible the villa can get...

Barry, Milner, Young and Downing were all championship players when we bought them. We do have short memories.

young was in the premiership with watford and milner in the premiership with newcastle. Barry was barely out of the youth team and downing was injured playing against us in boros relegation season and never played in the championship

Young had  4 months in the PL , Milner was not a regular for struggling Newcastle, Downing's team were in the championship. So as I said they were not established premier league players.

Get a grip mate. Barry signed on his 16th birthday, Milner and Downing were established PL players with real prospects and a Young was a star in the making.
Stop deluding yourself.
