We're better off going for somebody like Zaha or Ince (or both) than Sinclair. Somebody we can keep for instance.
Most likely there will be fellows from the continent we've been looking at though.

Zaha would be perfect for us, can play anywhere across the front three we play and he's shit hot.

Sell Bent and catch that rising star.

That could also be said of Daniel Sturridge.

Except Sturridge has not played consistenly since his six months at Bolton, and hardly at all before or since. Zaha has played week in, week out for the last couple of seasons.

It makes a big difference in my book.

I think Sturridge would actually be really well suited to the current Gabby/Weimann role. He'll end up at Liverpool though I suspect.

He wants assurances that he will play centrally from Liverpool, so I can't see him coming here to play out wide.

Dunne - Wages an issue, experienced though, could potentially do a job, especially with our current injuries.
Bent - looks like it's heading that way
Ireland - No - looked lively and I can't see why he isn't starting ahead of Bannan currently.

I don't have an issue with bringing in promising youth talent obviously, I just don't think it should be our priority.  How much would it cost to get Austin from Burnely?  They'd probably want near 10m, without PL experience.  The other two I can't say I've seen enough of to form an opinion either way.  What I am saying though is that we need to be looking to bring in players with more experience, we already have a few promising young lads.

Seen a few like Charlie Austin in the past. Older forum members will recall Derek Hales. Looked like a pirate. Vicious finisher for Charlton in
the second div(now the Championship) moved to Derby in the top Div ans stopped scoring.

Same with Jermaine Beckford in more recent times.

I agree that Austin would be expensive, but he could be a decent back up for Benteke if the price was right.  Offering the Fonz in a swap deal could be an option.  It would still be a gamble though.

Beckford's one season in the Premier League, he scored more than we seem to expect Gabby to manage because he runs around a lot.

Austin, when he plays in the Premier League could collapse. Or he could be a Darren Bent, Robbie Keane, Dion Dublin, Yakubu or Kevin Phillips. Sometime players do adapt. Sometimes they don't.

I'm not sure that most of us have seen enough of him to judge one way or the other.
