Didn't we pay Keane £1m for 6 games ?

Bloody hell, never liked him and like him even less now. That's depressing.

I'm not sure those figures for Keane are accurate at all.

Played his part in our survival though- defeat at wolves that day would have seen far more than £1m lost- those 3 points were vital.

Even if it isn't true that £1 million is a very small amount to pay to insure survival in the top flight.

i agree eastie, they would have gained momentum and put us in a big slump. my wolves mates were devastated that day as first half that was the best that they had played for a couple of seasons. robbie keanes goals were a sliding doors moment i think. worth whatever we paid for him fully.

That wolves game, i thought  we were certain to go down, and if it wasn't for Keanne we would have. Would have him back on loan, no problem.

I still think having Keane in the team upset the formation. He wasn't a midfielder and 4-4-2 really did mean we were light in midfield.

Two good goals at Wolves and another at Newcastle, but maybe we would have  beaten Wolves anyway with a better balanced midfield or alternatively got something from the other games he played in.

Is there a limit to the number of players who were responsible for saving us from relegation last year?

Either way, we're not that desperate, especially up front. Leave him where he is.

I seem to remember the full deal for Keane including loan fee & wages was around £600k

Like the look of the Brazilian fella. I think a real unpredictable creator like Ben Arfa, Hazard, Silva etc would be just what we need. If he is it I haven't a clue. The lad we were looking at from St Ettienne and the guy in Holland both seem to have had excellent first 10-12 games for their clubs - Bony and Augymang?? Both look really good options if Bent goes. The nice thing it though, when we are being linked with these 21-22 year old players that have a bit of skill on youtube and come from foreign shore, we actually might sign them these days, not just get linked only for the manager to have never heard of them by self admittance, and they go on to become worth 50m playing elsewhere.

He'd play in the hole where Ireland's been operating.

Cue PWS...

Am looking forward to the next couple of transfer windows, hope the European scout Henke has targeted 2 or 3 gems - centre half with a bit of pace would be a nice option to have

In addition to Falcao, he also once said that he didn't rate Ibrahamovic.
