Why would Phil Neville come here?

One last big pay off ,one last challenge -still got a bit of mileage in him, no longer a regular at Everton and quoted qpr a price last season which qpr didn't match  -just a name thrown in jj, general discussion in which we were asked to throw in  3 names we could realistically get to improve our chances of survival- feel free to name some.

He's started every game for Everton this season. Been in the North West his entire life. I can't see him leaving that for a relegation scrap with us.

I haven't seen him play in the flesh before, but I thought Wes Hoolahan was impressive yesterday.  He was very busy in the attacking midfielder and created quite a bit for them.  I also think if we are talking wide options then Adam Lalllana from Southampton would be a good shout, though I doubt we would would get him in January.

As For January, we desperately need some proven Premiership experience in midfield whether it be on permanent basis or on loan for the rest of the season.  We might have to shelve the long term thinking for the remainder of the season and concentrate solely on staying up.  I think we can revisit the long term plan over the summer when we have secured our place in the division.  With that in mind, experienced Premiership players  like Huddlestone and Neville are the sort of players we should be looking at in January.

If the money is right who knows , just a name thrown into the hat of the sort of player we need who may be gettable that's all, please feel free to throw a few names in as well.

Hoolahan impressed me a lot and has done a few times last season, would definitely be useful even if Norwich bump up the price a bit - we probably will need to pay over the odds in January but survival is vital.

I think he could be one for the summer Eastie as opposed to January.  I thought he had a lot more energy and creativity in that position than we have seen from the likes of Ireland and N'Zogbia.

I don't think a player like Hoolahan - as good as he is -  should be a priority right now.  We need a player with energy that can shore up the midfield.  Fringpong is a good shout although some experience would be handy.  Off the top of my head Flamini would be ideal but I'm not sure where he's at, or whether he maintained his decent form.

Frimpong is a good shout. I'd prefer someone more experienced though.

We need 2 in there. Frimpong and this Danish fella would do me if he is as good as reported to be so. Frimpong is a beast.

Oh and ditch 4-4-2, which would mean a Hoolahan type would be useful.

Robbie Keane anyone?

Think we missed something with Hitzlsperger to be honest. If he's good enough for Moyes, he's good enough for us. Established player, loads of experience and solid. It'd be nice to get 4-5 thunderbolts out of nothing too. We're not creating enough so a few goals from nowt would really help us. Think he'd have added to our midfield. Fitness would be an issue but he was a free agent. He divides opinion but he did okay for WH when he actually played, he's had 50 odd caps for ze Germans (granted not in their finest period) and played in the CL. He's on short term with them, so perhaps it could be re-ignited.

I'd be happy with Frimpong, but still feel another more experienced head in midfield would be useful too.

Keano to link the midfield and attack would be good. I'd play him off Benteke. Think they'd do well together. Keane likes playing with a big man too.

Keane would be a welcome addition but I don't think hitzlsperger is any better than what we've got already ,   another hit and miss average midfielder.
