Downing? Jenas? - we need grafters, not prima donnas.

Downing created shedloads in his last season here- Liverpool is too big for him but here he would be an ideal supply for benteke . I know his leaving left a bad taste but survival is imperative.
Downing can fuck right off.

Ok he was player of the season and created loads in his last season here, far more creative than anything we have at the club but because of the way he left you'd rather we not have him back   - I hope if we do go down that your not moaning then about not signing anyone creative.

I hated the way he left and yes he isn't a tackler but boy can he cross a ball and knock long accurate passes and I would take him back if it meant improving our chances of survival.

Downing, huddlestone and Neville would provide enough to keep us up I believe- do you have any suggestions ?
You say we need grafters and you want Downing?
He couldn't tackle a 5 years old without wincing in pain.

I've named 3 players that I'd go for - downing wouldn't be bought in to tackle but to create, huddlestone and Neville can tackle and add experience and steel- the question was choose 3 players who would improve us and be gettable - have you 3 names ?

I'm not sure what the appeal is with Huddlestone. He's alright but in the same kind of way Carrick is alright. Phil Neville is not a bad shout if only for his experience but he's a bit on the ye olde side but Downing can stay at Liverpool and play on a Thursday.

Do you have 3 names them clamps, not saying huddlestone is messi but he's a lot better than what we have as are Neville and downing.

I said Frimpong earlier. As for two more, no. I'll have to have a think.

Frimpong I like but I think we need more experience than that , also seems a bit injury prone.

Literally yesterday on Soccer AM, Seamus Coleman did the teammates interview thingy. He said Phil Neville throws 110pc into training, but struggles to keep up due to his age.

Neville would be a short term fix but if he cost £2.5m and helped keep us up then I'd be more than happy with that.

As much as i think he's a prick, i'd bite Liverpool's hands off if we could get Downing back for about 8m. But NOT if it meant selling someone else to fund it of course

The thought of him bursting down the left and putting balls into the box for Bent and Benteke to bang in fills me with a wave of optimism

All we'd to sort then would be a dominate, aggressive ball winner in midfield and another left back / centre back

I don't like the idea of paying £2.5m for a nearly 36 year old right back. Things are not quite that desperate.

I fucking hate Downing, but I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

I'm not so sure about not being quite that desperate.  We badly need a leader and he is definitely that.

If that £2.5 helps us stay up and not lose tens of millions more being relegated then its good business to me .

Why would Phil Neville come here?
