Let's look at the evidence. Bent hasn't looked happy in claret and blue over the past twelve months.

I remember him arriving first and looking like a class act who single-handedly would fire us up the table the following season. He quickly lost the manager who bought him, ended up playing for TSM who hadn't a clue how best to utilise him and lost his main supply line. Now that Lambert has arrived he hasn't looked like he's any happier really and the tell tale sign that Lambert isn't too bothered was Bent's revelation that it wasn't explained to him why he was 'stripped' of the captaincy and then dropped. He's played under three different managers in less than two years at villa and is known as a player who needs the cuddly type 'arm around the shoulder' treatment.

I always thought he'd be our 20 goal a season man but I can really see him leaving in January having had a very stop-start villa career.

I don't think lambert has any time or patience for sulky type players. Bent strikes me as a sulker.

All I can see is speculation without substance. So, Bent has thrown his toys away. Big deal. He can buckle down and win his place back or leave. I doubt he'll find any joy at QPR.

There is substance though, he had the captaincy taken away, he's been dropped from the team and he's had a little moan, that's not speculation that's what's happened for definite that we know about

Didnt I read somewhere that Lambert doesnt like "flash Harry's" around the camp. Bent rocking up to BH in his new Ferrari coincided with him being stripped of the captaincy and dropped. Might just be coincidence but you do wonder.

The last thing we want to do is sell Bent to QPR in January and get them out of the shit

So I take it that Ron Vlaar drives a Skoda? All footballers have flash motors don't they?

He's spent most of that time trying to get fit.

The stories today seem to be all following from a Paul merson line. I like merse, but he's a bit like pele. If he calls something in football, I'd normally put £20 on the opposite happening

Having said that, sell bent and bring in a couple of midfielders and a fwd and I'd consider it

Can't see it being Liverpool.  Firstly they don't look like they could stump up the price of a cup of tea at the moment, and secondly if Carroll was fucked off for not being a "Brendan Rodgers style" player how the hell is Darrn Bent one?  I'm not saying he won't be off, but if one more scousers starts on at me about how Bent will go to Liverpool because he wants European football I'll rip thir testicles off and shove them up their bright red nose.

Merse actually calls something in football then puts £20,000 on the opposite happening.

He's 29 in Feb. This window, if we can find the right suitor would likely be the most we will ever get for him. I'm not a proponent of selling our best players, but at the same time almost all of the top clubs sell their best players when it makes sense for them. They remain the top clubs because they are better than everyone else at finding replacements. We would get maybe £15m for Bent which would go some way to helping Lambert put together his squad. Something we'll only see coming together properly at the end of this season and into next.

I don't see the QPR links myself. Whilst they have money, they don't seem to be spending alot on transfer fees under Fernandes. It's more about wages.

He got injured in February at Wigan away. It was being commented for months before that how he was running about isolated up top with no support and that it didn't seem to be working under TSM.

That was just TSM though. He has no idea how to work strikers into his teams.
