Plough Lane. FA Cup 3rd round replay 1991. Soaked piss wet through and miserable.Lost with a last minute Alan Cork goal. Old Bill stopped me getting on the train.Late home, soaked piss wet through and miserable.Sigh. Those were the days.
Anyone recall Huddersfield away about 1987 when it started pouring down at 255pm and didn't stop ! It was their old ground which was a bit like stepping back into the 1930's (as was Huddersfield generally)
Small Heath and Wolves not enjoyable either
My worst away day was probably the Coca Cola cup game at the sty which we won 1-0 in 1993.Couldn't stay in Tamworth overnight due to work the next morning so had to get the train back to Lahndun after the game.Managed to avoid what appeared to the whole ground trying to suss out Villa fans afterwards for what I suspect wasn't a congratulatory handshake and got back to New street in one piece. The train back to the smoke however seemed to be full of bollock chain sporting cavemen loudly proclaiming amongst themselves how it was lucky there were no Villa on the train as they would "kick the fuck out of them".The train seemed to take ages going through the various stations before the last of them got off at Rugby. As the train pulled out, I tapped on the window and gave them a 1-0 signal. They actually started trying to chase the train up the platform as it sped off.I was childishly still laughing about this when I arrived two hours later at Euston.
Can't imagine the underpass was much fun in the old days?

They could get into a scrap in a Buddhist temple!
Oldham away for me . Fa cup game , plastic pitch . Im sure it was 3 0
Yeah i was at the Huddersfield away match in 1987 and remember it pretty well. It pissed down all day and we got soaked to the skin. If i remember correctly we won 1-0 with David Hunt scoring and there was a big punch up outside the ground after the game.
