I would hope it was Elle or Jonny Peacock for yspoty. But I expect Daley to get the hormonal female votes.

McIlroy.  Best in the world and he couldn't have done much more this year.  He didn't get a gold medal in London though so he's got absolutely no chance with the Great British Public.

Wiggins.

With all due respect to some absolutely outstanding achievements in the Olympics, his Tour win is unique in the sporting history of our country.

Anybody in sport that can get me jumping up and down in my living room like a lunatic the same way as when I see/hear the Villa scoring away from home has a chance of my vote. To do that twice makes it no contest.

Mo Farah.

I've gone for Ben Ainslie. Medals at four consecutive games, in two different classes, three of the medals gold.

That said, I could probably look at this list and change my mind every day until the award is given.

Wasn't this thread started after the Olympics, too?

I remember saying that there were too many worthy winners, but, Ellie Simmonds would be my pick.

EDIT:
Sports personality thread started on September 11th by placeforparks.
