For the overseas I'd go for David Rhodesia(sure the spelling is wrong)for what he did in the 800 metres.

Bolt and Phelps are the only choices for the foreign spot.

Bolt should win the only person in history to defend 100 and 200 titles but phelps has to be included for the whole most medals ever, still not sure I deem that as big an achievement though, there are far too many similar events in swimming for my liking.

Not sure why there's a debate. Wiggins did what no other Brit has done before. The rest are just repeat successes.

No brit  has ever won the 5k and 10k in the same games either.

No brit has ever won the olympic gold and a grand slam in the same year.

I agree wiggo is the favourite but those 2 aren't repeat successes.

That's a fair comment re Farah no Brit man has ever won the 5 or 10 in the Olympics. I suspect the athletics vote will be split.
Regarding the tennis the Olympic gold in tennis counts for less than a slam in the overall focus of players year, you only need to look at previous winners. Wiggins has won the biggest bike race which happens only once a year unlike the 4 slams.

It's nice to have lots of candidates for a change instead of the barrel scraping of recent years.

I would be truly amazed if Murray did not win this year- there are several worthy winners but I think the higher profile of tennis will see Murray get more votes than the likes of wiggins , farah ,etc.

Grand slam winner,Wimbledon final and Olympic gold and silvers medals I think will sway it in his favour- the standard this year is probably higher than ever .
