Shouldn't this be in the "Sports Arena" section ?

Can a Mod/Admin please do the honours.

Wiggo should win by a mile but he'll probably just about scrape home.

If Murray wins, the Beeb will have to change the wording at last, to read "Person" rather than "Personality".

Armando Iannucci ‏@Aiannucci
I think all the nominees for "Sports Personality of the Year" should fight it out in a series of events held over a fortnight in Stratford.

Seems a reasonable idea to me.....

They gave it to Nigel No Personality Mansell one year so a precedent has been set.

Surely to goodness Wiggo or Ennis over that professional miserabalist Murray.

I there are so many possibles this year, it would be unfair to single out one particular person or team, so they should forget it this year and do a huge joint award for Team GB, Olympic and Paralympic.
That way both Wiggins and Murrey would be awarded too.

Jess Ennis is lovely and was fantastic but in terms of achievement she really shouldn't be competing with Wiggo, Mo or the miserable scot this year.

Wiggo first ever British Winner of the TDF and a gold medal at the olympics.
Mo did the double in 2 of the hardest track events, again the first brit to ever achieve it.
Murray olympic gold and a grand slam, first british grand slam winner for 30odd years, first male in 76years.

Ennis olympic gold in an event we last won 12 years ago, I'd actually not even have her as top female, for me that would go to Katherine Grainger for getting her gold after 3 consecutive Silvers.

I'd be suprised if Ainslie and Sir Chris aren't in the nominations as well.

I can't decide between Mo and Wiggo for my choice, both great achievements and both great personalities who will inspire a generation.

Ellie Simmonds has got to be favourite for the 'young' title, got a feeling Tom  Daley will feature heavily in that one though.

Team GB can get the team award, Murray the main award. He might be a miserable sod but his achievements this year are exceptional, that can't be denied and it's too difficult to choose between the likes of Wiggins et al.

Either that or give it to Fat Frank for nearly getting a hat trick in that sparkling display against Moldova.

Fuck Murray, Sour faced c***, Ennis for me and she is also pleasing on the eye

With all your experience of competing for grand slams I can see the authority from which you speak there.

Honestly, the Murray-bashing from keyboard warriors is totally pathetic. Fuck that, I say.

Yes, now, if there's going to be a single winner that's exactly who should win it.
