When he was 21 Gabby was a first team regular and had scored 20 odd league goals for us.

I'm not saying he's Gabby. but he's a young kid that even if he shows up at 22 or 23 with the right coaching could be an asset. Most of this will be down to the player as to how he progresses.

I agree with Bowery and have no problem with us signing him.  But I was pointing out that Gabby was pulling up trees at 21.

And Michael Owen was past it at 25. Playters mature at different times.

Amazing news, I hope he gets the chance to play for us while we're still in the Prem.

Yep, and plenty of decent players have never had a shot at the big time. Lamberts Norwich squad, many of whom had come up league 1-2, some had been bought from non-league too, did him well. I remember Simeon Jackson giving us quite a good run around when he played for Gillingham in the cup a few years back. He's now in a premier league squad.

Is this the final nail in Delfouneso's coffin?

I think that was his performance against Everton.

He's certainly looks bound for Salifou alley.

From a Barrow fan mate of mine (they had him on loan briefly):

"Tall, fast, superb in the air. Picked up an injury so went back to Chesterfield early. Didn't score for us but did break some sort of Barra record for hitting the woodwork! Was far too good for the Conference anyway."

He 's a big, strong player and quick for a big lad.

We saw him score a couple against Derby in a pre-season friendly last month -he looked pretty good; certainly got potential to improve.
