A scruffy 1-0 win with Bent scoring and hopefully a couple of new signings announced before the game!

A win, probably not in any great style but the result is more important than the performance.

3-1, think Wiemann will get a couple (if he starts).

back to the Holte End for this one, need a new lucky seat!!

Villa to win four two. Guzan in goal, 4-3-3.

Villa to win...and the club to announce that their are closing the academy...sick to death listening about up and coming talent..The Talent which is produced is unfit for Premier League exposure.

Going down to see us win ! I've almost forgotten what a win feels like and I go to every home game, this is the "culture" that Paul Lambert is up against.

Last season after 2 games Villa were in 1st place, then went on to promptly be knocked out the league cup by Bolton and eventually finish 5th from bottom. Now after 2 games, we find ourselves in last place. From this I can only conclude that we're going to batter Tranmere on our way to winning the league cup and eventually finish 5th come the end of the season

My team would be:

------------------------Guzan-----------------------------
----Lowton------Vlaar-----Baker------Lihaj-----------
----------------Herd----------Delph----------------------
---------------------El Ahmedi----------------------------
Holman--------------------------------------Ireland-----
-----------------------Bent----------------------------------

My thinking would be that back four + goalkeeper would need 90 minutes ahead of Newcastle. Herd's combative game alongside Delph would allow El Ahmedi the chance to try and link up with Ireland and Holman a little more to support Bent. Bannan I don't feel is good enough and we need Delph's drive from midfield. Although Ireland looks like a left sided player on my team I would like to see him and Holman interchanging with El Ahmedi.

I'd also like to see Wiemann get a good 30 minutes as well.

1-0 Villa.

Goal late in normal time after a plodding and nervous performance.

PL has had pre-season with most of the squad and 2 Premier League games, so he needs to play what he thinks is his best starting XI. This needs to be a confidence boosting comfortable win...it will probably end up being 2-1 with us holding on in the last 5 minutes.

We really need to win this one and I think we will.

2-0 in normal time with a brace from Weimann.
