Alfie Crooks? He sounds like a player from the 1940s!

or out of a comic.
Hope we really win this. I want the commentator to say at the end  there is no shame in losing to the European champions

Watching this on Chelsea Tv.  May well have to turn the volume off.

Thanks for the heads up.

Daniel Johnson looked good again. I wonder if Lambert doesn't rate him.

Grealish's decision making wasn't so good, he spent a lot of time slowing things down in search of a blind alley.

We should have won it.

Personally thought Johnson was too casual throughout the game and epitomised by his penalty. Keeping possession of the ball is ok but the pace needs to be quickened up every so often so that teams are opened up. Otherwise they just retreat and reorganise.  It is a major fault with the first team and I thought the lads tended to play it at too pedestrian pace last night as well.  It is if they are saying look at me I have killed the ball and now I am going to roll it 20 yards backwards to a team mate and then stand and watch who he is going to role it to.

Looking at these U13, U-11, U-9 games I thought one of the new way of thinking from our Academy was that those under 16 didn't play in competitive games? Surely these games are just that?

Fulham U21 0-0 Villa U21 - 15 mins: Lively start from Villa. Samir Carruthers smashed a volley just over from 18 yards after being teed up by Daniel Johnson. Gary Gardner has already tried his luck on his first appearance since August. The midfielder unleashed a 30-yard drive which also just cleared the cross-bar.

Yes, Pete. They are competitive. U-16s lost 2-0 against Arsenal and the U-13s lost 3-0 to Coventry. U-11s beat them 12-0, though.

Fulham U21 1-0 Villa U21 - 60 mins: Good chances for Derrick Williams and Samir Carruthers. Williams unleashed a powerful header which Fulham keeper Neil Etheridge couldn't hold but the home side eventually scrambled it clear. Samir Carruthers lost his marker with a delightful drag-back before curling a 25-yard shot at goal. This time Etheridge saved comfortably. Fulham's Kerim Frei struck the bar with a stunning effort. He controlled on his chest before turning and volleying against the woodwork. Gary Gardner made way for Jordan Lyden in a pre-planned half-time substitution.

Fulham U21 2-0 Villa U21 - GOAL - 75 mins: The hosts double their advantage. Jack Grimmer was well placed to help Cauley Woodrow's cross-shot over the line from inside the six-yard box.
