And am I the only one who finds it depressing that Tranmere was 18 years ago? Another reason to head back to the old git thread!

No, it is depressing. That was a wonderful 2nd leg especially after the first leg there was so miserable. Thank goodness for that late goal to make it 3-1. We're a little beaten up since then and following our lots gives you grey hair before it's due.

Sheff Weds game is a decent shout, can't see them going for the Everton game though, like ours too much of a home banker. They generally want glamour, a derby or a good chance of an upset which is usually a tie like the Yeovil one, bigger boys away to the plucky little club.

They won't want an upset so much as good ratings. More people will want to watch Everton than anyone else.

Everton have been notoriously bad starters in recent years so that might also cross their minds.

Ah crap, if it's the 29th then that's the missus' birthday. Gonna take some serious wangling to get to the match without selling my soul.

We won't have details of ticket sales until the date has been confirmed.

Are Sky showing 4 league cup games a round this year.
I don't fancy playing on a Thursday.

Are Everton bigger than us now?

We've never started in August before or certainly not in recent years. Is it just the teams in Europe who get a bye to the third round?

Won't be going to this. I can't really justify it the week before Newcastle.

It's on the same day as my driving test. If I pass I'll go as a little present to myself.

Has the date been confirmed then?  Good luck with the driving test.

It's sometime that week, I saw '29th' from an earlier commenter and quickly assumed it was then...it might be the 28th actually now I think about it; but it should be one of the two.

Either way, thanks :)

Looking at the picture at the top of the thread, Brian Little and Keith Leonard are the Mighty Boosh. Alun Evans is Mr Moon.
