What if the 2012 Olympics had been awarded to NYC ?

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8218316/examining-pipe-dreams-real-accomplishments-new-york-failed-bid-host-2012-summer-olympics

Quote
But was the West Side Stadium really dead? Alex Garvin, the Olympic bid's lead planner, said it wasn't. "We always intended, if we won, to push for the West Side Stadium again," he said. "We believed that [State Assembly Speaker] Sheldon Silver would come around if the Olympics were a reality." The bid planners, according to Garvin, would have made a second attempt at securing state funding for the stadium, with the Jets as the primary tenant. If the stadium had been built, the proposals for its use could have been limitless. Cross said there were plans to host major college football games and an annual match between the winners of Europe's Champions League and South America's Copa Libertadores. There was talk that the stadium could attract the first Premier League team outside the U.K. as an additional tenant. And, of course, the Jets would be in Manhattan.

In amongst all the "Game 39" debate, I don't remember the possibility of moving a team to NYC ever being mentioned.

There's constant "talk" of moving an NFL team to London too ... sometimes sports writers just pull stuff out of their backsides because they have nothing else to talk about, and are still required to fill space.

That one has legs though, having an English Premier league team in New York has not be mentioned anywhere up until that report, as far as I'm aware.

After 20 minutes of Googling and Yahooing, I've found no other articles mentioning the idea of moving an English team to NYC

Losing 19 away games a season due to jetlag would mean they would be relegated in the first season.

Unless they win the 19 home games due to other team having jet lag, 57 points is normally good enough for upper midtable

Jet lag is supposedly worse flying from America to the UK. So the return match after the flight might be worse for the English team. I bet we wouldn't get one of those matches as we always seem to miss the match after a European leg as well.

Me either.
This is interesting and I have been thinking about it all morning.
The question is is it "me either" or "me neither"?
