I've had terrible guts since the middle of last week. Anything I eat just goes straight through me. Never seen green shit before. Getting slowly back to relative normality now though.

Regarding the Villa, I feel fine and dandy.

You need to lay off those pints of absinthe mixed with creme de menthe and green chartreuse mate

I'm feeling very pissed off. I was hoping to wake up this morning and find Rhianna, Mila Kunis and Keeley in bed with me. They weren't.

Sorry, they have been at mine for the weekend, just had a little breakfast and departed.

Just had tonsilitis, so feeling a bit rough still.

Villa wise? Happy with Lambert and what he's doing. A few need to go and a few need to come in.

As for the Villa, well compared to this time last year ecstatic.

A little misty eyed for Blighty with all this Olympic malarkey.

As for the Villa, cautiously optimistic for the season, i like the things Lambert's doing.  I think we might surprise a few with a couple of quality additions defensively.

Shame Blose haven't gone bust yet though.

I think the main thing is that we sat down and wrote a list of what we wanted to happen after last season, it would have looked something like this:-

Replace TSM (done)
Let Heskey leave, but keep Guzan (both done)
Replace the FBs (Lowton signed and both Cressell & Bertrand linked)
Get a decent DCM in (done)
Break up the Collins/Dunne partnership (Clark playing CB in pre-season and Vlarr heavily linked)
Play better and more attacking football (looking good based on pre-season so far)

So, it's more a case of what have we got to not feel positive about Villa wise?  The issues are being sorted one by one.  Rome wasn't built in a day, so there's no guarantee we'll do anything spectacular next season, but we WILL be better.

I agree there, John. It's not just the players he's bringing in, it's that he seems to have so much better ideas about how to use what we already have. Bannan especially seems to be greatly improved and improving in this sort of passing team, and giving him the armband was a great touch to boost his confidence. He and Clark (at centre back) will be ones to watch next season, but Weimann and Gardner might also emerge fully. Ireland should really look to improve further in a style which suits him, and I think Guzan may surprise some, not least because his throwing distribution is very good and would help us launch attacks.

All in all, very excited. The way Lambert talks (about El Ahmadi's passing, for instance), he has a really clear vision of how to play the game and so far seems capable of getting the players to believe in it, in him, but most importantly in themselves. The contrast between now and last season couldn't be plainer.

I am feeling really tired today because I've had a weekend in Bath where my family surprised me by arranging for my bestest ever friend and his family to join us a surprise for my 50th and he took me to meet his friend who is a famous music producer and a big Norwich City supporter and he told me we've got a brilliant manager and then took me to have a look round Real World Studios and told me lots of great stories especially about Jay Z and it was really brilliant and I think Paul Lambert will be really good and I still feel tired but happy.

By Christopher Jameson, 50

I'm not jealous. Oh no, not me. Sounds horrid. Glad it didn't happen to me.

Bastard.

Nick, been in a few recording studios but this place was amazing especially what is supposedly the biggest control room in the world. Only ended up going by chance as my friend and I called round to visit his mate at home and as he had to go in to do some work invited us along, it was fascinating to hear some of the stories about the acts Steve had worked with and how a James Bond soundtrack comes together and about how Jay Z works in the studio, even my mate who isn't easily impressed was impressed!

Never been to Bath before and really liked the place but this was special!

I trust you told him 'Pop' by U2 was a pile of shit?

Thought it best not to as we'd only just met and were getting along very well.

About the Villa I feel very positive.  Not been this enthusiastic for a very long time.  Going to Peterborough on Wednesday and looking forward to seeing who plays and how they play.

I still feel utterly wrecked from my leaving do last night. Don't do Jaeger Bombs, kids.

Ugh, tell me about it.

Last time I spent a night on the 'bombs I was in my bathroom by 1 am, sitting on the loo with my head in the sink.

It was firing out of both ends, folks.

As for the Villa - feeling very positive! As said, nothing has happened yet so I'm trying not to get my hopes up but definitely looking forward to this season! A clean start is what this club needs ... just like the bathmat that took the brunt of my first wave of projectile vomit.

I feel very positive about the coming season and just ever so slightly aggrieved that I'm travelling in South East Asia for 6 months in Sept. I'm hoping I can catch a few games while I'm over there. If I'm lucky I'll manage to see a few games as the Prem is quite popular round them parts. If McLeish was in charge I'd have happily just taken a 6 month sabbatical from the pain, but under Lambert, I feel we're going to be pretty decent.
