Highlights of the Lerner era.
« on: July 04, 2012, 05:49:49 PM »
The last two years have been pretty piss poor, and low on excitement, but I was looking at some stuff on youtube, and really, we've had some cracking times since 2006.

For me, though, the most gobsmacking moment was this. I was watching on telly and remember being so shocked, i just sat there laughing maniacally and pointing at the screen shouting "look at that! look at that!"

Then, however, there was this. What I love most about this club is, just look at the Villa fans erupting into utter mayhem. It makes the hairs on the back of the neck stand up.

Then there was also this:

and this belter:

I think what I miss most, though, is the utter spirit we showed so often, at matches like this:

Can't believe you left out beating Small Heath 5-1! Plus the time we won at Old Trafford; that was pretty special. My personal favourite has to be the Carling Cup semi-final though.

The win over United was fantastic, we waited so long for it, it meant more than the wins over the shit down the road. The jubilation of our fans was brilliant

Our fans were brilliant that day

A european adventure!

Cheers Leeg!

The one European memory that sticks out is beating Ajax 2-1. Glorious.

In fact, pretty much everything Laursen did. There's a reason I don't mind looking a bit daft with his name on the back of the current shirt.

What a cracking thread. Absolutely magic. 06-10 was a great era. My favourite season was 08/09.

At Christmas 2008 I genuinely believed I'd soon see villa mount a season long title challenge.

One more here, nowhere near as upbeat - but damn emotional and I'm proud to have been a part of it.

That has to be my favourite - can guarantee they'll be mentioning that game in the programme in 50 years times
