I'd guess Holt would be up there for Lambert, but we'll see the making of the man.  If he goes for him, time will tell, if he doesn't I think we're in for a treat with PL.  You see, he's at a club on a slightly different level to that of Norwich (not being disrespectful ) league position aside.  He might feel he can operate in a different market than previously?

So let's say Holt wasn't the first signing, I'd plump for one of the following:

Diame - Wigan - Free - Gives us some steel in midfield that we've not seen and aside from the last few games for Wigan was used to good effect.  Let's face it, we need a spine!

Joe Cole - Liverpool - 3M? - The one thing on which we can all agree is that we've lost creativity and we have been trying to get creativity from central midfield for what seems like an eternity!  He has flourished in France and has shown his technical ability.  I think he'd be worth a should.

Scott Dann - Blackburn - No idea of price - Has struggled since Samba left, but was a very good servant and would allow us to break up the "rat pack" of Dunne and Collins.  Let's face it, whether it's bad performances, or sickening media coverage, we need to break them up.

Well I had heard that Diame was up for considering his options, and Joe Cole's move back to Lille was scuppered by his wage demands.

I can't see us paying cole's wages. To be honest, given that dann is left footed and would cost double figures, is rather see if Clark or baker can make the place their own. A tall fast right footed centre back? Yes please.

I think Mazrim has a point, under TSM, Dann was probably all we could hope for, under Lambert, I'd hope to get a better player.  He was decent at Blues (surreounded by shite) but has now suffered two relegations in as many years, surely that must tell us something?
