You are joking I assume? We could team him up with Reo-Coker and Osborne in a three man midfield or perhaps add Gardner in to beef things up and make us one of  the crappiest midfields in the league

There's no way they would sell Micah Richards. Probably the same with De Jong too - one of Mancini's favourite tactical changes was to bring De Jong on which would release Toure to get forward more. That's how their goal away to Newcastle came about.

Richards and Johnson would be amazing signings but cant see either happening.

Citeh will be spending again this summer so the chances of first team football for Johnson will be even less than last, so it would make sense that he would want to move, however his wage demands could be too much for most clubs. Richards is still a part of the team so cant see him moving anywhere anytime soon.

FFS what is it with the Holt to Villa thing? Norwich won't give him a new contract because he's too old. Why on earth do we want to commit a fee of 4m and wages of 35k a week to a player who is nearly 32 and has no re sale value whatsoever? It's fucking madness to even contenplate signing him and if we do, my belief that we've turned the coner will be severely challenged. Might as well have TSM back as its just the sort of thing that ****** would do. We need to be aiming a lot higher. After all we are Aston villa.

Agreed. The only way I would take Holt would be on a free and a 12 month contract, anything else would be madness.

I'd guess I'm not the only one who is remembering signing Peter Withe aged 29 and not being too impressed. He played for us for 5 years I think and things turned out Ok.

This is Holt's last chance to get a nice fat contract, and I  don't blame him for doing whatever he can to make it happen...I just really don't want Villa to be the mugs that give it to him.
