I expect them to play football - not hoof the damned thing out of defence or pass to opponents (big ask)
I expect them to conduct themselves with dignity and as adults and role models (don't laugh at the back)
I expect them to attack attack attack
I expect the FA Cup

Expectations: A bit of dignity put back into our club; sadly missing for to long.
Pride in playing for our club;again ,missing for to long.
A manager who does not conceed defeat before the players have even got on the team coach.
A manager who has the balls to admit they made a mistake and put the mistake right, instead of passing the blame around again and again.
A manager who is great at motivation and getting the best out of a limited squad.
A manager who actually gives a toss about our club and will fight every step of the way to bring success back to Villa.
Now is that to much to ask? Seems to have been for while now. It's about time that changed now with Lambert at the helm.

He will have to deal with a severe case of bullying:

Quote
    Dear Mr Frenette,
my name is Ashley Young and I live in Manchester. One of my friends has  been enduring bullying. His name is Gabriel Agbonlahor. We have been playing  football together since June 2011. The bully has been doing it since September  2010. He is called Darren Rigby. Each time we lose a match this man sends my  friend a message saying "I will hurt you if you don't score goals".  So it is cyber-bullying. My friend is totally disappointed that the best  supporter of our club has been sending that type of message.

Your site is not interesting for my case because it is for school pupils  and there aren’t any examples for footballers. So, I would like you to help my  friend.

Thanks in advance

Yours Sincerely,
Ashley Young

I have just been marking a load of e-mails sent in by my Year 10 students (14-15 yrs old). The task was to "send an e-mail to Mr Frenette, an anti-bullying expert, as one of your classmates has been bullied for some time...".

I thought I'd share this one you and with Mr Lambert as it made me smile (and so that you can all see that I take my AVFC evangelisation/torture programme VERY seriously.

About ten of the little buggers have used the name "Darren" or "Rigby" as the name of the bully in their e-mails. I can't think why.

It is going to take time and we will need to be patient, much as we were when MON arrived. He had to continue with the likes McCann, Baros, Osborne and others until he could put his own print on the team and it will be the same with Lambert. Much as we might want a big clear out, it is probably unwise to let so much experience go so soon and it will have to be gradual. What we do want I think as a minimum is a have a go attitude against the top teams, a feeling that we go out to beat anyone at VP, seeing the youngsters encouraged to play with some freedom and just some pride in following the club again which was it was difficult to drum up last season

Agreed but think it's way off the mark to bracket Baros with Osborne. He had been top scorer at Euro 2004, and eight years on will be a starter for Czech at this year's tournament too. Talented player but has/had to be managed properly and O'Neill coudn't be arsed working with temperamental fancy-dans.

Though I am prepared to wait for another season of transition before we win the cup.

I was just using a few examples I could remember Eammon! I could have just easily have said Sorenson, Chris Sutton and Liam Ridgewell, all of whom MON used in that first season to a greater or lesser extent as I recall

I think the final straw with Baros was his abject 'performance' at Anfield when we were 3-0 down at half-time and he hadn't tried a leg. I think any of us would have lost patience with him at that point. MON brought Gabby and Sutton on at half-time and they tried and did much better as we won the second half 1-0.

Continue with the likes of Osbourne?!  MON was the one who gave Osbourne his debut!!

For you getting through the day without a bit of bad luck is a bit too optimistic, as is the above.  Well a tad.
