Here we go again!! Who will it be this time next year ? When is Lerner going to learn that we need an experienced Manager, not a rookie. If he had given MON the money he wanted instead of wasting it on Hasbeens and failures we would be in the Champions League by now. Look out Championship, we are definitely coming.  :'(
Pardon ?

I think MON did his share of wasting money...on contracts if not on players..

Edit :

Our off the ball movement has been dreadful for years under a lot of different managers. If Lambert can get it right I will be over the moon! You just have to look at how poor our retention is at throw-ins to see seehow poor we are.

That's a good point Drummond, we are particularly poor at keep possession form throw-ins.  I noticed watching England yesterday that it's prevalent in the national side too, along with clearing the ball at all costs when under no real pressure in tight areas.  It's a British thing and we have been particularly 'British' for a good while now.

A few of our players can do it (Ireland, Bannan) but there's no composure at the back whatsoever and that;s a big reason why we are often ugly to watch.

Well said. That throw-in thing has been bothering me for years and years. I absolutely hate it when, for example, Albrighton is fighting for the ball on the right wing and the ball is slid out of play by the left back for a throw. Albrighton picks up the ball, looks for the quick option - and not one teammate is looking at him. The opposition is out of shape and vulnerable, but we're just trudging 'into position', unimaginative, not moving, heads down. Eventually Hutton takes the ball, looks around vainly for movement, before giving up and chucking the ball aimlessly down the line - to the opposition defence. It's miserable.

Get behind him instead of continually whingeing. The problem stems from the appoint of the f--g and the h----s which was a complete and utter disaster. Give the poor man time to get things right. The previous two nearly completed the ruin of the Club which Lerner started when he would not back MON. All that money for Darren Bent !!!?

It is going to take time and we will need to be patient, much as we were when MON arrived. He had to continue with the likes McCann, Baros, Osborne and others until he could put his own print on the team and it will be the same with Lambert. Much as we might want a big clear out, it is probably unwise to let so much experience go so soon and it will have to be gradual. What we do want I think as a minimum is a have a go attitude against the top teams, a feeling that we go out to beat anyone at VP, seeing the youngsters encouraged to play with some freedom and just some pride in following the club again which was it was difficult to drum up last season
