No real expectations, just hope that Plumbutt can continue his upward managerial curve before he leaves us for the Mun Utd job!

I think we may see the potential in Delph under the new regime! The kid has talent, no doubt. Just need someone to nurture his more natural attacking side. I'm really looking forward to the new season!

Just keep well away from the relegation zone at all times. My nerves won't stand another season like the last one.

Great appointment in my opinion.  7-10 would be acceptable next season and hopefully decent runs in both cups please.
Hope Lerner does back him up with the rumoured 20m war chest plus any revenue raised from those he may be able to move out. I wouldnt be too concerned if he also moved out Agbonlahor and/or Bent and brought in someone like Jordan Rhodes who wants to prove himself at a higher level .
Hopefully Gardner will continue to improve and become and integral part of midfield and Carruthers get more opportunities to prove his potential.
Priority has to go on defense and a midfielder who can control a game

Last season, Lambert picked weakened teams for home ties in both cup competitions -result: home defeats to MKD and Leicester.

Should make him popular in B6...

Really pleased with the appointment.

I think it would be wrong to say I have no expectations - I expect better than the past 2 seasons. But I'm so relieved to be shot of TSM and confident in PL's abilities that I'm probably more willing to give him the benefit of the doubt (as I did with GH for large portions of his tenure).

What would I be pleased with? A top 10 finish, and making great strides in getting the best out of the talent we already have. If we get the likes of Bent, Ireland, Zog and Delph playing to their best I think we could surprise a few people. Granted, it may be a big if with some of them.

Mid-table, some more bums on seats and a few decent signings.

That's all.

Expectations? Possibly something similar to Big Ron's first season - mixed bag of results but some signings coming in that can make a real impact in the next few years. Also, higher average attendances than last season and a finish between 9-12th.

Hopes? Finish between 7-10th, couple of decent cup runs, see further progress from Weimann and Herd, take some points from the clubs around the top of the division.

We struggled against relegation last season (and kind of the season before). I think our league form should be the priority for the new manager.

A weakened Villa side next season should be much better than a weakened Norwich side was this season.

This for me.

But I'd be happier going all out to win the cup games and sacrifice the odd league game providided we were mid table - like Fulham did a couple of years ago.

I want to look forward to and enjoy watching Villa again. Last season I dreaded Villa matches.
I want Villa to try and win every game (I can accept losing if we try to win and the other team is better) and not go out to avoid losing.

That's all for next season.

Comfortably avoiding relegation, playing attractive attacking football and always looking to have a go at teams, no matter if it is man u away or Southampton at home just go out and play with optimism and the belief that we can win the game.

Welcome Paul,good luck.
