Zog, that is fair to say...

I really really hope it's Solsjkaer, he's a risk but the greatest potential reward.

With you all the way on that.

Paul lamberts claret & blue army!

Its funny a week ago Lambert might have been welcomed as an exciting choice. Now I think he would be a bit of a let down. I would back him, of course, but  would be disappointing (three years running).

I wanted Lambert. i'll gladly admit it. I also was lukewarm on Solskjaer when it was first suggested. Now that I've given it some proper thought, watched some stuff, read some stuff I've reconsidered my position. Lambert would be a good option too, as would Rodgers, even Martinez. But Solskjaer offers something incredibly unique and dynamic and we really, really need that.

Fingers crossed it is OGS, I think you can see on here and other parts of the net Villa related that he has captured the imagination and would get good support from the fans, which would be such a welcome change of atmosphere.

Some media reports suggested he had impressed on Friday, is that fair to say?

Solskjaer is the exciting appointment that could revitalise the club. I'll be disappointed if it's anyone else. However if it's Lambert I'll fully support him and thank the lord he's not Mcleish.

One downside if we do get OGS is the demise of that wonderful expression Astonian Gloom.   It has stuck in my mind since Mr Woodhall coined it.  Those two words summarize perfectly the home page of my mind.   It will be like losing an old friend.

I wonder if we've had many unsolicited applications from managers we haven't actively approached.
I reckon they've been inundated As I said on the other thread ,we are the perfect club for any manager at the moment as fans expectations are greatly reduced and he will be given time to really make his mark

Do you mean like the letters they must get from nutters ?
I used to have a mate back in the 1980s who would send letters to the Test and County Cricket Board saying things like he was unavailable for the winter tour of India. He never got a reply.

These are my sentiments also, with the exception of Martinez,  I just haven't got the faith in him that others seem to have.  We've no choice but to wait and see.  I hate it, I don't do patience.

Just go get OGS and lets have a go at things, far better than the idea of ''cant be worse than ekk'', he actually presents opportunity[ and innovation], and board awareness of need.

True, Brian, but the Norwegians are not exactly known for their excitability. Mr Solskjær will bring the mindblowing paradox of left-field creativity and scandanavian down-to-earthism.
Could be a weird but fulfilling journey ... man.

I have had no answer to my application however I think that is only because Paul Faulkner does not have an email account.

I just called up Dave Whelan. I have NOT been contacted yet, I repeat NO CONTACT has bene made by Aston Villa for my services as manager.

I will update him again tomorrow. He likes to know these things,
