Please can we reset the poll?

Suggested options:

OGS
Lambert
A.N.Other

Would it be a better idea to reset the 'Who do you want as next manager' thread poll and add OGS to that?

I see Jan Aage Fjortoft has tweeted saying he thinks if Solskjaer is offered the job he'll take it.

Just backed 5.8, then a lay 4.8 literally seconds later.

Marvellous.

Can someone please explain betfair to me; I wish to put a tenner on OGS but there are three options I can see - 4.6, 4.7 and 4.8 - what's the significance?

Blue = back
Pink = Lay

but your screen can be customised so hard to tell. Click on a price and see what it says. Just don't confirm until you're comfortable.

The club have said this is a process, where they will look at a number of people who meet the criteria (young, progressive & ambitious).

All we know is they've spoken to OGS, but haven't offered him the job, so there's no decision for him to make. Unless, of course he isn't interested. He has 2 years on his contract & as things currently stand he intends to stand by that. I would be mightily pissed off, if I was him, with how Molde have behaved.  SSN & Talk shite won't let the facts get in the way of an 'exclusive'.

According to the Mail yesterday, we apparently spoke to Martinez on Thursday! Which I can't believe.

Let the process take its course.

Cheers - so I click on the blue one. £10 liability and £41 profit - sounds right?

Jesus, my dad would be horrified if he saw me asking this!

Cue the abuse ! We have had informal talks and of course we are interested but we do not want to go down a blind alley and want to interview others with similar qualities but without speaking to them how do we know if they will fit and share the same visions  . My understanding is 2 others are in the frame and OSG Has not been ruled out and certainly not been offered the job to turn it down . There has been interest where 1 decent manager has thrown his hat in the ring but not sure if he is even an option !
Villa have no issue with the mis-reporting as its helping them do what they need to do without it being public and things are going under the radar  . Villa wish that the OGS story wasn't in the public because he isn't the only candidate available and will lead all Villa fans to think he is the preferred and only  choice . He is not the only option he never was !

My reading of the situation seems correct then, MM. Is there a chance the Villa board will see how popular the idea of OGS was to Villa fans and perhaps go with that a bit? Especially considering how unpopular the last appointment was.

They think we might be as happy with the other candidates but well aware of how popular he is with fans ! And no I haven't a clue who they are after but can't see it being Martinez they won't take the risk . I don't think the candiates are from any of the ones mentioned but thats just me

So that'd be a 'no' to Lambert? That's fascinating. They really are casting the net this time!

I like him. Think he would definitely do a good job at Villa. He might do a great job... That's what I want from our appointments - someone who'll definitely be at least competent, but has the potential to go on and do really great things with us. Such a manager has to be one who favors an open attacking approach. The problem with many of the last Villa appointments is that they have all been a little too solid/steady and were always likely to do a good job (ie. 6th/7th league finishes) rather than allow for the possibility of doing a great job. I do not see a Solskjaer who is reasonably backed by Randy as too much of a risk - he'll certainly do better than McLeish, but he also offers the possibility of really having a crack at the top 4, in fact he strikes me as the kind of guy who will leave no stone un-turned until we achieve that aim, and then be pissed off cause we haven't won the league! This is the kind of attitude I'd like to see permeating the club as a whole. There are not many managers available to us, who could reasonably do this . Solskjaer is one. He may fail, but I think it's more than worth the risk...

I think it's going to be quite a protracted task for Randy. If OGS has ruled himself out then Randy will just have to plough on, he's tried to do the right thing and get somebody to fit the bill but our stock has fallen a fair bit so this is going to be a hell of a lot tougher than we think.
