And now we've tipped off anyone else looking for a good, young manager as to where they can find one!
...in true Villa fashion.

I fully expect us to appoint someone absolutely shit now. Build hopes, shit on faces. It's the Villa way.

Any other realistic appointment would just feel boring to me now.

I've really warmed to the idea of taking this sort of risk.

I'm in the same boat really. Obviously I'll support whoever we appoint, but I really want it to be Solskjaer.

I think it is clear that a vast majority of fans are really excited by the ideas of appointing Ole, he has something about him clearly. I sincerely hope we can twist his arm to come, but I fear with the pull of home and now his clubs backers blackmailing him, it is becoming very unlikely to happen.

me too. To replicate this kind of delirious voyage into the unknown they'd have to appoint Lynda Bellingham

After it became clear we were approaching him. However that's the nature of football fans, they tend to look at who's done well in a high profile sense. Hence we were all talking about the likes of Rodgers and Lambert, as they've done well in the league we follow. I'd suspect that actual football clubs search a bit more extensively.

The board searched more extensively last year that's for sure.

They appointed someone who hadn't done well in the league we follow.

The Aston Villa board has embarked upon an interview process which will lead to the appointment of a new manager.

This process will be focused and consistent with the board's objectives which are to secure a manager who can help to reinvigorate the club and bring some vibrancy back to Villa.

We are aware that certain individuals have been linked with our managerial vacancy but, out of respect to all potential candidates and any clubs they may currently be employed by, we will not discuss specific individuals by name.

We will update supporters when we have more news.

Hoping lambert will be next to be spoken to, i think we can discount martinez and rodgers , but i still think they will be talking to 3 or 4 candidates, nice of the board to keep us informed.
