After his 2005 conviction for corruption involving the illegal purchase of a boat licence, Røkke served 24–25 days of a 120-day sentence in Hof Prison, and was subsequently released on parole.

Oh, the great Illegal Boat Licence Caper of 2005. The fabric of Norwegian society seemed to be falling apart

Were you live reporting on that one? Is the reason for your lack of enthusiasm for the country? We need to get to the bottom of it Damon, I fear therapy may be needed.

Rogers is only 39 himself, he may feel it's too early to join a club like Liverpool, he's got time on his side. Us on the other hand might suit him a bit better at this point. All that said, i'm not convinced he's the right man but the board might think differently.

He has said he is not interested in leaving swansea and wants to see the job through- he will not be coming here clampy.

Interesting that lambert on the other hand refused to commit himself when asked if he was staying at norwich - he is still an option i think.

And now we've tipped off anyone else looking for a good, young manager as to where they can find one!
...in true Villa fashion.

Yep I'm sure noones ever heard of Solksjaer.

When did he first get mentioned on here?

I’m pretty sure I mentioned him after Houllier.

I dont know who Rokke or Aker are...but if they are pulling sponsorship simply due to the possibility of OGS leaving then that doesnt say much for their integrity whoever they may be. If OGS is in contract then I'm sure Randy would put together a reasonable compensation package for Molde so hopefully OGS and the club will be comfortable if hes the man for the job.

I think this was remade into a crime drama with that woman in the jumper.

The press raved about it.

I reckon its near enough dead. If you really want the job you'll take it straight away and if Villa really want him they'd have offered it him straight away. Otherwise its a bit rum saying "well can you hold on and string you current employers along while we see if we can get our preferred choice?" Different matter if he was unemployed

He might just have gone back as they have a game on Sunday to prepare for.

I think if his departure is causing that many problems they'd probably want him out the club straight away rather than prolong it for a game

You did indeed. What drew your attention to him?

Molde have 3 games in the next week so today was probably his only chance to pop over, as he said he came out of respect, but it seems talks were not very advanced and id expect them to call him back over if he makes the 2nd stage , i think there will be many twists and rumours before we seal the deal with anyone- randy has gone back home so i dont think much will happen before next week now.

The Aston Villa board has embarked upon an interview process which will lead to the appointment of a new manager.

This process will be focused and consistent with the board's objectives which are to secure a manager who can help to reinvigorate the club and bring some vibrancy back to Villa.

We are aware that certain individuals have been linked with our managerial vacancy but, out of respect to all potential candidates and any clubs they may currently be employed by, we will not discuss specific individuals by name.

We will update supporters when we have more news.

So he has been interviewed then, not such an informal chat after all.

That's actually a good point, hadn't noticed that. I also don't think Molde's investors would be so bent out of shape if it was just a chat.
