From what I can gather the only possible stumbling block is his family being settled in Norway. I believe the job's his if he wants it.

Well let's hope he wants it.

we have plenty of lovely countryside just replace fjords with canals  :-[

That brings back fond memories of summer evenings some thirty years ago. An ex g/f was even a barmaid there for a short period.

But nobody on here had even mentioned OGS as a potential manager until yesterday. Now we all seem to be experts on his management potential.

Has anyone ( other than watching a youtube clip) actually followed his career to date? seriously, can anyone tell me what he's like as a manager without re-hashing other peoples' views?

I'm guessing that nobody on here even knew which club he was managing until they checked yesterday?

Very risky if you ask me

Let me guess, when she left, you dumped her?

SKY SPORTS NEWS confirms it....

He'll soon have our unruly kids in order with his... "Stop mucking about..." and  "Ooh - I say".

The spirit of Kenneth is strong in this one.

I think he could be a great appointment but it is a huge gamble.

Our last two appointments were huge gambles but not great appointments, so he has that advantage over them.

It would have to be a long term project, not an AVB immediate success requirement that ultimately backfires. He will still be learning within the job so fans will have to give him a chance.

I just hope RL & PF do a better job of selling the club to him than they did with Martinez last year.

It may also be a certain Manchester club will be keeping an eye on his appointment with us for a future job there.

They never even spoke to martinez as he turned down the opportunity to have talks .

It will definetly be a very risky appointment but a risk im sure alot of us fans dont mind taking he seems to have alot of potential, its worth a try,id prefer him to Martinez who has nearly relegated his team last 2 years.

Plus i have £4 on OGS at 25/1 so I hope it is now lol

Haven't read the above 28 pages, so apologies if this is repetitious.

Yes from me; my only reservation is his connection with the MU lot (but that may have its advantages in terms of new recruits).
I wonder who would be on his coaching staff.

It'll probably mean that the appointment (were it to take place) has realistically probably only got a maximum of three years' life but - hey - if that means we will be competing for real honours at that time, why not?! certainly an appointment to raise our profile again.

I tend to agree.

I don't think we should get carried away. We've been here before.

One thing is for sure, even if we don't land OGS our hatred of Wheelan has been upped a notch or two.

If he's not careful he could even surpass Gold.

We have hired Carla Connor off Coronation Street to follow him, befriend him and become drinking buddies, then when he collapses in a drunken stupor to kill him.

You're totally right Chico, I know nothing about his Management career, but I'm thinking "why the hell not", it's totally left field and unexpected, so therefore quite exciting.

Almost every possible appointment would be a gamble for different reasons and I love the fact that this has come left field and is so unexpected

Monday was the quietest Villa Park has ever been for a managerial leaving. You can guarantee that if we get OGS the world's media will be at the press conference.

But I think that's what most Villa fans were hoping for, someone from leftfield who can offer something new.

Mourinho and AVB both came from very similar backgrounds, one succeeded one failed, that's the chance you take.

Everyone knew McLeish's game inside out, and that worked out well.

Help me catch up.  What has he said now?

He's been like Tumnus for the past few weeks minus the helicopter.

Disrespecting our club on more than one occasion too.

the fella's just fighting his corner, playing the big clubs for twats, and in our case getting the better of us last term,
he's a wiley old git, but ultimatley harmless, dont understand the hatred towards him at all
