I wonder if Randy's motive is to get a manager who wouldn't look out of place in student night at Gatecrasher, thereby keep an eye on his first team squad when they're out rucking with the door staff?  Shrewd.

Can't explain why exactly, but I'm quite excited by Solskjaer & really hope it goes through.

From what I can gather the only possible stumbling block is his family being settled in Norway. I believe the job's his if he wants it.

Well let's hope he wants it.

we have plenty of lovely countryside just replace fjords with canals  :-[

Apologies, I have not read the prev 28 pages but I just saw this on Gary Neville’s Twitter.  To paraphrase:

Q (to GNev2):  Any advice for anyone about to start their coaching badges?
A:  Yeah, sit next to someone intelligent
Q:  So, who did you sit next to?
A:  Ole Gunnar.  A perfect example.

From what I have read - cannot remember where - Sir Alex thinks that Ole has the best football brain of any of the players he has managed.  He’s been studying the game pretty much all his playing career.

I think he could be a great appointment but it is a huge gamble.  My preference would be for a DoF to be appointed to help him.  Someone streetwise.  If not a DoF then a very experienced assistant.

That's the pub I visit most often.  The only down side is the gaffer,  he's a miserable git.

anyone fancy hangerland instead of collins next season? that would be a massive step in the right direction in breaking up the chuckle brothers in defence

One thing is for sure, even if we don't land OGS our hatred of Wheelan has been upped a notch or two.

If he's not careful he could even surpass Gold.

Help me catch up.  What has he said now?

At Birmingham Airport.. Randy's plane delayed slightly on landing after a bird strike to a previous aircraft. #AVFC

There's a bird strike?

Bollocks. That's my night at Legs Eleven down the pan then.

I think he could be a great appointment but it is a huge gamble.

Our last two appointments were huge gambles but not great appointments, so he has that advantage over them.

It would have to be a long term project, not an AVB immediate success requirement that ultimately backfires. He will still be learning within the job so fans will have to give him a chance.

I just hope RL & PF do a better job of selling the club to him than they did with Martinez last year.

It may also be a certain Manchester club will be keeping an eye on his appointment with us for a future job there.

He's been like Tumnus for the past few weeks minus the helicopter.

Disrespecting our club on more than one occasion too.

It's a gamble but it's sport, not a beach landing. Have fun with it.
