I don't know really. It seems like a hell of a risk when looking at his career so far, but then the other managers we're looking at aren't what I would call anything special.

For me, the safe bet, but one that would still excite and galvanise us, is Paul Lambert. Taken Norwich from the third division to the first and kept them up this year. Perhaps I'm more conservative about my football than I realised, but I feel very uneasy about such a left-field appointment as Solksjaer.

I need a don't know option. I've got my reservations about it but i'm bloody intrigued at the same time.

Dine ønsker er vår kommando.

Thank you Dave.

He'd have to be absolutely rotten to be as bad as McLeish.  So even if he takes a while to find his feet, I think most fans would accept a mid table finish if it meant moving in the right direction and seeing some decent football.

Agreed that's why Villa is a great job at the moment. It's a big club where the fans for the time being just want to see us play some entertaining stuff and win a few games. Our current expectations are very moderate.

Just watched the whole 46 minute documentary Gunning for Glory on youtube.. He doesn't half love Man United. But he also speaks fantastically about football and his hopes for Molde. Although - as suspected by others - his first game as manager at Old Trafford will be quite the love in I can't see him being like McLeish and rolling over. He's a winner.

A no from me .... man utd reserves, Molde then Aston Villa.... mmmmmmm

Guardiola went from Barcelona reserves, Villas-Boas was a backroom staff man, Mourinho was essentially a translator. If he has the aptitude it doesn't matter where he's been.

I do have some reservations but when you put it that way, why not. A better bet than some of the names being banded about (McCarthy, Grayson...oh please !)
A yes it is then from me.

Oh - and at the very end he says his dream and goal is to manage in the Premier League. He does also say he'd love to manage United one day - but that's okay. Why not? He loves the club, he's bound to want to manage them..

The fact he wants to manage in the Prem bodes well.

And it'll probably be our first game of the season.

A gamble, but a young, ambitious manager, fresh ideas, scoring from corners... bring it on.

UTV!

A yes from me.

Lambert is my first choice and still is, but something about going with OGS intrigues and excites me.

aye. its gonna be grim the interviews for that first match  against them with the likes of Holt etc...

"So Ole, you've decided to leave Ireland on the bench for this game. Can you tell us how much you love United?"
