I need a don't know option. I've got my reservations about it but i'm bloody intrigued at the same time.

Dine ønsker er vår kommando.

What does that mean?

'My hovercraft is full of eels'?

The experience thing doesn't bother me, Mcleish had plenty of experience and was dreadful. I'd like someone who's a gamble with fresh ideas and very evidently likes his team to play football. Get him in, ship out some of our trouble makers and bring in some footballers. It could be brilliant, it might not work, but I'm prepared to take a gamble for some excitement after the drudgery.

And it's a yes from me, as well.  Exciting times ahead, in a good way, I hope.

Yes!

Big, Bold, Brave by the board, and hopefully Brilliant!

100% support from me when he rocks up at VP.

Let the optimism return!

A no from me .... man utd reserves, Molde then Aston Villa.... mmmmmmm

Guardiola went from Barcelona reserves, Villas-Boas was a backroom staff man, Mourinho was essentially a translator. If he has the aptitude it doesn't matter where he's been.

Looking at our options, and looking at where we are now as a club, this could be the realistic appointment that gives us a much-needed lift. Ole is a winner, is intelligent, likeable, charismatic and has probably learnt one or two things about ruthlessness from old exploded sausage nose. He won't be anybody's fool.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the whole Man Utd connection. Perhaps it merely confirms the reality of our place in the football hierarchy, but I get the feeling Randy has been talking to Fergie again, and Fergie wants Ole blooded in the Prem in preparation for an eventual move to OT. We've been a feeder club when it comes to players, and now he (Fergie) sees us as a feeder club for a manager.

The bright side to all this is that he'll only go to Man Utd if and when he's successful, and if he's successful here, that's a lot better than us being mediocre under someone else. Let's give it a crack, get some young Norwegian talent to B6, and better still some excitement. It'll help us forget the previous 11 months.

I think alot of fans might be nervous/have reservations but he might just galvanise the the support the way that Houllier and McLeish could never have done.

(fair play to McLeish by the way for his statement about his tenure at the Villa)

I will repeat, in order to replace Ferguson he is going to have to do a great job a Villa for at least a couple of years. I'm prepared to take that chance.

This.

Great managers become great managers because they're given the chance. If we don't give him the chance, and someone else does, and he guides them to fantastic levels - we've missed out.

If we can't persuade McLeish to come back and have another go, then OGS gets an enthusiastic yes from me, but I'd be just as pleased if it was Lambert.

He'd have to be absolutely rotten to be as bad as McLeish.  So even if he takes a while to find his feet, I think most fans would accept a mid table finish if it meant moving in the right direction and seeing some decent football.
