Not sure. Good name to be linked. And we will get plenty of press.

Not in the London Standard. There was a whole page about Liverpool. We merited two lines at the bottom of the page!!

Before I went down south somewhere on this thread a post said never underestimate the Villa Board in their ability to get things wrong.

Can you seriously see  Solskjær getting any respect from the likes of Collins Dunne and N'Zogbia

If I was Collins,Dunne of N'Zogbia I'd be more worried about trying to impress somebody who has more trophies and medals at the very highest level than they will ever have between them.

You are right about Collins and Dunne (and would add Warnock too) and perhaps they would see their future away from Villa Park.  I think N'Zogbia would relish having OGS as manager.

Quote from: The Daily Telegraph
Lerner is thought to have been impressed by Solskjær but the Villa owner has returned to the United States to consider whether to make him a formal offer straight away, or look at other candidates first.

I'd say this is close to where we're at atm. Based on his comments I think OGS will accept the job if he's offered it.

On the surface it's hard to see OSG as being the first name on the list & 3 days ago nobody would have even contemplated it. But if he ticks all the boxes, Lerner is confident of this and that he'll accept, why waste time on others. I sense this will be completed early next week.

The club deserve credit for looking outside of the usual suspects. I'm confident that we won't be talking about whoever does come in the same terms as the previous occupant.

Villa have not offered him the job - from the horses mouth- fact!

Hes said it himself and the club have released a statement clarifying the situation .

Thats not to say he wont be offered the job but at the moment he hasnt been, talk of him resigning tomorrow is pie in the sky.

Lets see who the other candidates are and what attributes they have- a week ago lambert was being cheered by our fans , let things take their course .
If after hes seen the others randy feels ole is the best man im sure he will get the offer so what is the problem waiting and letting randy do the job.

Well Ive read the first twenty pages of this thread and was surprised how many of you seem to want him

Well I want Paul Lambert as the next Villa manager  A PROVEN TALENT!

and I  would very much like to see Faulkners services dispensed with.

By the way as I have been away since Wednesday does anyone know if Grant is still there?

Faulkner should be sacked for casting his search further? I applaud him for it. Also Solsjkaer has was the league with a team that had never won it, that proves something.

A decent manager, has progressed through the leagues and has got Norwich to midtable but a proven talent?

Ive just come back from London. I first read this OGS news on a crowded commuter train. I was not impressed. I was of the opinion that Paul Lambert was a done deal and we had got the manager the majority wanted

I just dont see what he has done. Totally unproven in English football and why I ask has he not began in the lower leagues and built a reputation before moving upwards to a club of our size and history. Paul Lambert (who I now find is to be interviewed
early next week) has built a big reputation for attractive football and impresses me no end.

Before I went down south somewhere on this thread a post said never underestimate the Villa Board in their ability to get things wrong.

If Paul Lambert isnt the chosen candidate it will be a travesty of justice!

I'd say yes he would command the respect. To be honest I'm hoping all three will be booted out as soon as whoever comes in. I'd quite like OGS but Lambert has also done a decent job with Norwich. Both are still very inexperienced(OGS more so)but I think both will bring a feelgood factor and air of optimism which has been severley lacking for some years.
