Liverpool are welcome to him, I really don't get the Martinez thing.

I like Martinez too but unfortunately too many hypocrite Villa fans don't want him.

By hypocrite Villa fans do you mean ones that don't agree with you?

Martinez would be okay, and that's it, okay. he's keep us up, probably mid-table, but of all the candidates he's the least inspiring to me. I wouldn't be up in arms if we employed him but I don't feel that frisson of excitement when his name is mentioned.

No the ones with the elitist attitude of "he's not good enough" "he's too inexperienced" "the job is too big for him" "he would be too much of a risk" yet have jumped on the Solskjær bandwagon.

Yes,  the ones who don't agree with you.

He has an eye for a bargain and isn't afraid of sticking to his guns with regards to playing football.  I reckon he could be a quality Manager for Villa if given a bit of money to spend.  Lambert, OSG or Martinez and I'm happy.

One thing you'd get with Martinez, an exciting end to the season for all the wrong reasons. I'm not a fan

It's worth having a look at RAWK for some of their comments on Martinez. My favourite exchange:

`What the hell has Martinez ever achieved?'

`Well, she won Wimbledon in 1994 for a start. Have some respect'

I don't want him, not because I'm a hypocrite, but because his teams are fucking shit for 7 months out of every season.

He told us to fuck off and now I am telling him to fuck off.

And this. Fucking bang on. You had your chance, Roberto, now fuck off.

He didn't really though. He had a chance to interview for the job last year but felt loyal to Wigan. Admirable in a way. His stock is higher this summer hence the Liverpool interview. He'll be a thorough, respectful type of manager wherever he goes. I'm just not sure if he'd be a good fit for us.

You've gotta be pretty good for Saint Etienne to name a song after you. Whatever became of Conchita?

Amen to that.
Keeping Wigan up by the skin of their teeth every year is no endorsement.
I remember them away in Houlliers season, we beat them and they were comfortably one of the worst teams i've ever seen.

I'm also a bit suspicious that he's gotten too used to be fighting against relegation, and wouldn't bring the winning-mentality to our club and players.

To be fair if they carry on the winning mentality they had since January, they'll be top four next season!

Can't for the life of me see why 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' are looking at him - this must be a smokescreen.

I'd piss myself if they appointed Martinez but I just cannot see it.

I actually think he's potentially a good manager and would do a good job at most clubs. However Liverpool fans will think they're far too big for him. I don't want him either, because I want Ole in charge of our club.

I think Liverpool are in for a big shock if they think he'll do any better than the craggy old racist.
