Yes he has.

Saying it happens even at the big clubs.

I didn't realise we were a little club.

It was'nt exactly a brawl, more like a very pissed up chap trying to get into a club.

Herd dose'nt come out of it very well obviously and i'm not sure what the other two have meant to have done other than just being there. It's not exactly a sacking offence but not good all the same.

He's saying this happens at the big clubs.  It's happened at Villa.  How does that imply we're a little club?

The way it's quoted above reads otherwise to me.

For once mcleish is spot on with his comments!
Maybe, but a bit of Pot & Kettle comes to mind here but for different reasons and on a grander scale.

Is it not bleeding possible in one fucking thread not to bash the bloke? This has nothing at all to do with him. He has said exactly the right thing, and it is what all of us are thinking. If you want to beat the bloke up, and we've pretty much all had a go recently then there are 500 other threads to do it.

Two things:

This has been happening since time began, young adults pissed up and regretting their actions the following day. It's just in todays age we have the technology so you are forever in shame.

This has nothing to do with the boss. If I go out tonight and cause a scene, I am accountable not my boss.

Ian Taylor was just on WM saying in his day he would have them up against the wall for pulling a stunt like that.

Its a shame those days no longer exist, cant see anyone in the current squad taking that approach.

He must have give Lee Hendrie a few kickings then.

I love how everyone is in a competition with each other to see who can be morally outraged about this. Its not like last seasons disgrace where Collins and Dunne should have been sacked on the spot for their behaviour. It's just a couple of stupid drunk guys shouting at a door. Christ, I've shouted at a door whilst sober, usually after we've lost.

Collins has previous. He's also 30 years old, and old pro, an international captain. He's also shite and a waste of space. Get rid.

Herd. Smacky bum time.

Delph. As above, though I'd get rid because he's shite.

This is the bloody last thing we needed to happen before going into the penultimate wknd of the season, staring relegation in the mug. None of those players should have been out clubbing. It's a disgrace and a mockery. No it's not McLeishs fault, but it's symptomatic of his leaderships. Some players who couldn't get by under Houlliers strict regime, are having an easy time of it and loving it seemingly. I think he's too easy on them and it's in part why most of the players seem to like him.

What a chuffing mess.

The players have been fined and have apologised.  The club should have played it down and moved on.  As it is, the comments have possibly magnified what has happened to the point that a simple fine doesn't match the reaction.  If they have disgraced the club they should be sold.  If the club feel that this would be too harsh, they should have tempered their comments accordingly.

The club should have made a statement saying that they were disappointed with the behaviour of the players, they have been fined and been warned about any future similar behaviour.

I agree with that. Stuff like them being 'a slur on the club' is a bit strong. Besides, if they felt so strongly about it why are Dunne and Collins still here after their behaviour last season which was much worse? No one was hurt and no crime was committed. All that has happened is that someone has shouted at and kicked a door. We don't even know why he did that.

I think it's all an over reaction, especially as I've had first hand experience of those cocky bouncers at Gatecrasher.
