The key match for me this weekend is Newcastle v Man City. If City lose that match, they are effectively out of the title race, and then the unthinkable could happen which is that QPR get a point against City in their last game of the season. I am assuming that QPR will beat Stoke on Saturday and the worst case that we lose to Spurs and also to Norwich.

I still think we will just avoid the drop though because we will get another point and even if we lose both matches, QPR still have a lot to do to overtake us. Blackburn are as good as down unless they can win both their matches and really improve their goal difference drastically which is highly unlikely.

Incorrect I think on the first point as Man Utd have to go to Sunderland on the last day and despite a recent usual MON springtime dip in form, they are capable of beating Man Utd as they did Man City and a few other notable scalps at the SOL this season. They have a few players too who will be keen to prove a point to Ferguson

There is no scenario where Man City are out of the title chase.

Man City - QPR should be our banker result.  But the longer that stays at 0-0 the browner my underpants will get.

I think Wigan will go past us, and Bolton could feasibly go past us.

yes i agree,
the usual Brucie Bonus has gone now for Fergie
MON will not be rolling over for him and handing him the 3 points for nothing this time

theres a very good posibility it will go down to the last day, as either a win for OPR or Bolton at the weekend coupled with a draw or loss for us will do just that.

it all makes it more exciting though doesnt it ?

There is no scenario where Man City are out of the title chase.

But there is a scenario whereby ManU could be by the last day, which is just as worrying.

Presumably he thinks Man City will take it easy.  I'd say even if true, they'd more likely win 7-0 as they turn on the style, but whatever, it just shows that with two games left, it's all going to the wire.  Sky must be creaming themselves.

I still think we will avoid the drop but I will be very worried if City lose to Newcastle, United win this weekend and we lose. All three results are very probable.

City would still be in the title race, I agree, but it's out of their hands and stranger things have happened than it all going wrong for them on the final day against QPR who will almost certainly have to get a point out of that game to avoid going down.

ManC win on Saturday and ManU lose. The title race is over then, and City can take it easy on the last day and concentrate on the celebrations.

a worse synario would be if City won and Man Utd lost, city would have won the league barring a 7 nil deafeat or something and take it easy

just as maisdstone said ealier .....

A bit like how Man U took it easy against Blackpool ?
ManC will want to win in front of their home support .

4-0 City it will be like a training match for them
